Wedding details
With media playing such a big role in our society today, more & more people are meeting their significant others online. Kevin & I met online through MySpace. The way he tells it is that we had a mutual friend & I was suggested as someone he might know. He took a chance & sent me a private message, I took an entire month to respond & boy am I thankful I did! We exchanged emails for a few days until we decided to share our cell phone numbers. As a precaution (because I did not know this guy) asked our mutual friend what kind of guy Kevin was. She assured me he was not a creeper & was a genuinely nice person. We began to text & slowly began to get to know one another. Eventually we set a date to meet in person. Our first date was on Saturday, May 2, 2009. Neither of us knew we would end up meeting one day earlier under interesting circumstances. Friday, May 1, 2009, I was at a friend's house & when it was time to leave, I went to start my car & quickly realized that the battery was dead. I frantically placed calls to both of my parents, only to find out that neither one of them was able to help. I called a few other friends & none of them were in a situation to come help. It took me a few minutes but I discovered that I had one last option...so I text Kevin and asked if he was busy. He told me he wasn't so I explained my situation to him, gave him the address & then proceeded to pace in my friend's living room for 30 minutes, until I received a phone call that he was outfront. Palms sweating I walked outside with my friend's daughter in tow. Kevin connected the jumper cables and used his truck to jumpstart my car. The whole time I followed him around like a lost puppy completely unaware of what needed to be done; opening the hood, connecting each cable, turning on the car. (Thinking back I am quite embarrassed) Once my car had come back to life Kevin and I awkwardly stood in the street, unsure of what to do next. Then he asked if I wanted to walk around the mall or get ice cream. I had to disappoint him by informing him that my mom had told me to go straight home until my dad could figure out why the battery had died in the first place. I felt so bad & wished we could've have spent time together that afternoon. So we hugged goodbye, knowing we would see one another the next night. No matter how much I insist that my car was legitimately dead, to this day Kevin jokes that I made the whole thing up in order to meet him one day sooner, face-to-face. Today we consider God to be our matchmaker. Fate brought us together & God controls fate.

FH & I are thinking about having a Thumbprint Tree as a "guestbook" at our wedding. My colors are black, white, & shades of pink. I would love to use different shades of pink for the thumbprints but am afraid that would look weird/dumb. What do you...
