How much does wedding photography cost?

Molly, on May 2, 2019 at 9:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 160
So I just want to know what the average price is for a photographer. I know certain areas are cheeper than others. Also I would like to know how much you are paying / willing to pay for one.

We are paying $2650 for 2 photographers for 8 hours. This includes $150 worth of our choice of prints and we also get a minimum of 200 edited images (digital files). We are also going to get 3 albums at $250 each- one for us and one for each set of our parents

I am in Atlanta which definitely increases the average price and I also picked a pretty sought after photographer

Oh I’m so jealous of your pricing 😭 We are in NYC & can’t find any descent photographers for less than $2000 for 1 photographer, no prints, no engagement photos & for only 6 hours. So it really depends on the area you are in.

We are paying $3800 for 8 hours, engagement photos and a photo booth. It seems all the photographers we liked with a moody photojournalistic style were about the same price so we went with who we liked best.

$2000 for 2 photographers for 5 hours. We are in New Jersey and this was by far the best deal we could find... I was literally getting quotes for 5-6k which is like half my budget 🙄

We are paying $2250 for 10 hours of photography, 2 shooters, an album, and an engagement shoot. We booked last year, however, and the pricing for this package has gone up to $2750 for 2019.

The average around here (Dutchess county NY) is $2100 but we found a photographer for $1200 for 8 hours, second shooter, digital prints, 8 prints, album, and engagement shoot. She does photography as a side gig so she doesn’t charge as much as everyone else but her photos do come out great

In Maryland, we paid about $2500 for 8 hours, a second shooter for 8 hours, engagement photos, and full rights to all of our photos. We had quotes anywhere from $2000- $6000 for similar packages.

Yes, we got a really good deal and her pictures are exactly our style. She is the SIL of someone I went to high school with so she gave us her name. We are in CT so we saw a lot of photographers that were honestly like $5000 so we got really lucky with her.

We paid $900 for all day photography coverage (9am-9pm) & well over 600 digital copies. She also helped with keeping things running smoothly the day of the wedding which was a huge blessing.

I think ours is about 2k with 6 hours and only one shooter. That's not including prints either. Our photographer did a complimentary "short and sweet engagement session" but if you wanted the photos you had to purchase them. We did, lol. It will work for us but definitely doesn't work for everyone!

I'm only having her at our small ceremony so it works.

$1800 for all day coverage, 2 shooters (husband & wife duo), our engagement pictures were included in the cost. We’re in Reno, NV. But we lucked out booking our photographer because she takes amazing photos but just went full time with her photography business so right after we booked her she ended up raising her prices!
