How much are you paying per person for food?

I am working on my budget for catering and was just curious how much everyone is paying per person for food. I am paying $10 per person for catering from Carrabas which includes chicken marsala or salmon with garlic mashed potatos, soup or salad, and bread.

Wow...the venue I am looking st starts at 21.95 per person. We aren't doing alcohol so I believe they charge extra for that.

Ours ranged from about $25-$36/person, depending on what they ordered (plated dinner). With the open bar, (assuming the person ordered the most expensive dinner), the most we would have paid would have been about $56 a person.

Ok I'm having a tough time typing this we're paying $126 per person less a 10% discount for having it before memorial day on the Cape. It includes the room, surf & turf, chicken, or steak, cake, cake cutting, appetizers, coffee, the toast, pouring the toast. Basically everything but alcohol! Sadly it seems expensive but every other place we looked at started at $80 a plate, plus cake cutting fee, room rental fee, toast pouring fee, 20% tip etc. so if you think about it sadly we're saving money Smiley sad

I'm paying $8 per person for the entrees, but after I looked at my total catering bill with appetizers, drinks, dishes, and service it will be around $17 without alcohol or cake.

I think I'm at about $70pp and in the Northeast that is a pretty good deal. That includes 5/hr open bar, cheese and fruit apps, 3 choices for buffet dinner, and wedding cake included. I hate the area we live in! Most places around are over 100pp. But then again they probably aren't dealing with the stuff I am with my venue/caterer. **rolling eyes**

Not a clue. I realized I can't have the wedding in my back yard due to the fact that I only have one bathroom, so now I am re-considering the original venue of the park with the Gazebo, and getting graduates of the Culinary Arts program at the college I attend to do the food. I will do all the prep, all they have to do is cook/heat and serve everything and clean up. I am guessing I will be spending close to $50pp including all the rentals etc. . . (sorry, even in a park, no paper for this bride, I go on a picnic and bring china and crystal, silver and real linnens).

17.75...that has a salad, a starch, a chicken, a beef, and a seafood. My dad knows the chef through work...the guy cooks for a football team owner and the football players so we are getting really great food at a fantastic price!
