How many venues did you tour before finding yours?

We booked the second venue we looked at.

I think we looked at 3 or 4 but we knew we wanted the one we chose when we went on a couple different tours after!

We toured 3-4 venues before we booked ours. We knew immediately our venue was the place for our wedding.

We booked the second venue as well and had a third lined up but we decided that day as the pricepoint for what we received was much better than the first. Don't feel rushed! You are a year out, so that's great timing. I feel like the more you physically look at the more you'll get overwhelmed. 3 is good to start especially if you strongly vetted what is offered by each venue via emails and already ruled some out that were out of budget/not what you wanted/etc.

We toured three venues and chose the third. Funny story, we didn't even want to tour that venue There weren't very many pictures online and it just didn't look like all that, but my mom begged me to go look with her since they were very affordable. Turns out the pictures did NOT do it justice, it's so beautiful and as soon as I left I texted FH and said "you have to come here with me Saturday because I want this place" lol. And he was as sold as I was!

I booked the first venue we toured, but I did a lot of research before we booked.

I set up 8 venue tours last month. Since we’re getting married in Feb. I only searched certain type of venues because of weather. After the 3rd tour they all pretty much started to be around same price. We fell in love with the 4th venue we toured and ended up cancelling the 8th venue because by then we knew what we wanted.

We scheduled tours of four or five venues. Ended up only seeing two. Saw our two "favorites" first, and knew after venue #2 that nothing was going to compare to #1, so we booked it. And thank god we did - within about 3 days of us booking our date, they were booked SOLID every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the next several months!

Technically 2. The second choice was the one we originally put a deposit down for.

2, but only because we had an appt. to tour the 2nd venue immediately after the first and didn't want to be rude and cancel. We kept an open mind, but knew the 1st venue was the one for us.

We toured 3 venues at various price points and levels of inclusion - one more all-inclusive winery; one winery that had a coordinator they wanted you to use and most of the hardware (tables, chairs, etc.) but required you to handle catering, music, etc.; and a distillery that's pretty much just the event space so you have to rent everything or bring it in yourselves. We ended up picking the distillery - it's a little more to juggle, but it's a great space in a more ideal location, and it lets us do a more custom wedding.

We toured 3 venues and went back to the second one.

Toured 2 venues and booked the first. Did a ton of research and pricing on a lot more than that though.

I looked at 3 and he came to 2 of them. But then we did a complete venue change and were going to do a DW in Montana shoreline on Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park.

We booked the 1st and only venue that we toured. I did A LOT of research for months and kept coming back to this one. We finally scheduled a tour and we both fell in love with it. Good luck!

Don't feel rushed take your time, and find the perfect venue for yourself and you FH. We toured one venue online and on in person. The venue we toured in person was the place we choose.

I did A LOT of research online and lots of phone calls and emails. We went on 2 tours and booked the second. We loved it as soon as we walked in!

Girl, I looked at 92 online and 25 in person before I found mine!! But, I know, for sure, that I got the most for the best price!!

My FH and I are paying for everything ourselves so I had to shop around alot!! Plus, I really enjoy a good bargin so I had to make sure I got one for my wedding!! We got engaged 3/15/19 and are getting married on 3/27/21 so I have plenty of time to do so!! I knew I was going to want to shop around alot for all my vendors so I made sure I was going to have the time to do it!!

I'm not as bad for flowers, bakeries, ect. but im still looking at like 3 or 4 till I find the ones I want!! Good luck!!

I think we ended up touring 6 or so venues.

My advice is to consolidate trips if you can. We knew generally what region we wanted the venue to be in (about 1-1.5 hr away from where we live) so every trip, we tried to see at least 2 venues.

This method might sound crazy but it really worked for me because I wasn’t going months in between seeing venues; everything was toured and signed within a matter of weeks. This helped me compare them side by side and really be able to evaluate them without getting too attached to any one place.

In the end the last place we found was hands down the best and I’m really glad we got it out of the way. I was very anxious to pin down the venue because there were so many places that didn’t have around the date we wanted.
