We only toured three before making our decision. We fell in love right away with the fourth venue. It was supposed to be the first venue we saw but we put it off for that reason lol.
My advice is take your time ... do NOT rush. My fiancé and I booked a venue lost money and then in process Booking our new venue. I think once you have a very clear picture of what you want. Here is ALL my check marks to make me realize why I’m going with my new venue. I can’t stress enough ask questions and pay attention to all booking fee and your contracts. POSITIVEs on new venue ✔️ Larger guest count 60 to 130 ✔️Guest won’t have to pay for parking ✔️Open Bar ✔️Delicious food✔️ Across street from hotel✔️Reception area not split up ✔️Have it until midnight if we want to ✔️Preferred DJ✔️ Preferred Caterer✔️ Preferred Florist✔️ Preferred Photographer / Videographer ✔️ Music outside ✔️Babe can still plan 👰🏾 surprise

I toured a lot on my own because at the time my schedule wasn't the same as everyone else. I toured about 8 or 9 venues, some with my fiance and a couple of others with one of my bridesmaids and my FMIL. We didn't pick our venue until February, the wedding is in October. I felt very rushed and stressed! But I wish I would've slowed down and not been in such a hurry. I caused myself a lot of unnecessary stress.

Similar to you I got engaged this year, and also am planning for a March 2021 wedding. I’ve already viewed 2 places, and have searched for dozens online. I have a feeling I will continue to search to find the most bang for my buck! Especially since I’ve allowed myself the time to do so. Honestly there is not right or wrong to planning a wedding! Everyone should do whatever their heart desires
My FH our two kids and I toured 6 venues and when we toured the venue we booked it literally took my breath away and booked that same day it was an amazing experience 😌

I totally agree!! To be honest, I really enjoyed looking at all the different places!! I kinda miss that part of my planning!! Good luck to you!!
I booked the second venue I looked at just because I started crying the second I started imagining my wedding day there. I knew then, that that venue was the one.

Good, I don't feel alone for having toured 20+ venues! I wanted my wedding in NYC where I live but everything was too small and too expensive. Then I expanded my search outside the city but most places were typical wedding halls and I wanted something that felt unique. I thought I'd have to settle but the 21st venue I toured matched my aesthetic perfectly! So I guess my advice is, it's ok to keep looking until you find what you love ☺️

I looked at dozensssss online as well and then looked at maybe 10 in person? I lost count honestly. Haha you gotta do what you gotta do to find the perfect venue!
I emailed at least 10-15 for pricing packages, went to two of them and chose the second one!
It was important for us to have it be near or at a hotel as most of our family members have to fly in! They also offered us a higher end package at their base package price if we do it this winter -- so we said yes! 01/2020 !
