The other post about online dating inspired me to ask, and I love hearing stories about how couples met!

We both attend an HBCU- Historically Black College or University. Most of the white students here are locals who attend the school so that they can live at home and save money, but I don't have an HBCU near me, I've just always wanted to attend one since I was a little girl, so I moved 7 hours and into a dorm room to be here. So of course, I am one of the few to have a meal plan and eat in the café. I was eating dinner with a group of my friends one night when he walked by and saw me, he was instantly attracted to me and we had a mutual friend. Later he asked her what my name was, but she played dumb and told him she didn't know, not knowing if I would be interested or not. Later that night I went on a long walk with a couple of friends including the mutual one, took some pics and tagged her in one on Facebook. He saw the tag, added me and asked me out.

We met while I was pumping gas August 2013. He pulled up to the pump next to mine and struck up a conversation. We went on a date the next night and have been together ever since. I'm so glad he got up the nerve.

We met in the 4th graden and continued through school together until we graduated high school. We were just friends all through school, then I went away to college and he and I started a long distance relationship. We've been together almost 4 years officially (November 12th is our official 4 years).

FH and I grew up in the same small town.. our parents knew each other, and my older brother and his older sister were best friends in high school. We didn't actually start dating until he moved 2.5 hours away for grad school!

I met FH when we were in high school. Our first class together was chemistry and we screwed around (not sexually, get your minds out of the gutters… ) the entire semester. Fast forward to two years ago.. A mutual couple of friends invited us to a party, which ended up being cancelled because the husband got sick. FH decided to message me on facebook, telling me ye was looking forward to the party and mentioned that he couldn't believe we haven't seen eachother since high school. We talked for hours and exchanged numbers. We went on a date the next week without a hitch. We became pretty much inseparable, and after he met my daughter, I knew FH was the man I was going to marry. ETA: clarification of "screwed around"

We initially met on a dating site. Found out that he lived 10 minutes away from me. We went to Dunkin Donuts and the movies on our first date. I thought I blew it, I was super awkward and very shy ( how I appear to be when first meeting people). However, I heard from him the next day and he likes my quirky/ sometimes awkward personality. We're almost completely opposite personality wise ( he could have a conversation with a rock lol) but I think we compliment each other. Smiley smile

I always say college, but I'll drop the full story because work is slow.

I had bought my contract from a girl from my hometown that had a summer internship. So, I moved into a new apartment and that first Friday night, I decided to watch baby mama. So, I got in these flannel light pink butterfly pajamas, washed off makeup, put in my retainer (lol), and turned on the TV. Well, my husband was really good friends with the other girls in the apartment, so he knocked on the door looking for them. I answered, it was awkward, and I ended up asking if he wanted to watch the movie. He said no.

Later on, he told me about this awesome burger joint and asked if I wanted to go to it. Half way through dinner, he choked on his water and looked at me and went, "Well, good thing this isn't a real date, right?" Cool, thanks bro.

So, we were friends for years after that and ended up dating after a weird night in Elko, Nevada. But, that's a story for a different post.

We met from a Craigslist room for rent ad. I was moving out of my dads place and I needed a place to rent a room, I called the number on the ad and he answered. He picked me up at the bus stop (I didn't have a car at the time) and he showed me the place. It appealed to me because the other roommates were him, his friend and his friends gf, who were all within my age group. I was closer to the other roommates than I was to him, honestly we didn't get along very well as roommates. I thought he was an asshole and he didn't like my friends and I really didn't care for him.

When i moved out we began to talk again as friends and I realized he wasn't as much of an asshole as I thought. Then Somehow it turned into dating...still trying to figure that one out. Lol

I met my husband at a hockey game almost 5 yrs ago. We knew of each other thru mutual friends, but that night on NYE was so random...all we said to each other was "hey", "hi", "see ya later"...and that was it. Started dating a few weeks after and the rest is history.

We went to highschool together and had mutual friends, but never talked. My dad was a volunteer at our local firehouse for years. When I was finally old enough to join, my fh had already joined two years prior. Our deputy chief actually was close friends with the both of us and we started hanging out as a group. And eventually together by ourselves. He asked me to be his girlfriend September 1st 2010. He proposed last month while vacationing in Cancun with a seashell and well be getting married on our 8 year dating anniversary.

    I love telling my story!

We met through mutual friends of ours. He was at the time living in Illinois(me in Wisconsin) and came up to visit a friend of his and his then girlfriend(now wife) for the weekend. They were going to go to a local baseball game and fireworks later. I was supposed to go to a Lady Antebellum concert with my dad that day, but it was too hot so we decided not to go. I messaged my friend and told her I could now go with them, she got me a seat just behind them. My husband and I started talking right away and could not stop talking to each other the whole night! My friend kind of had a feeling we were hitting things off pretty well, and he did ask his friend if I was seeing anyone at the time. lol. The next weekend husbands friend asked him to come hang out again and we just picked up where we left off. I think it was a few group dates later, he asked for my number and called me to go to dinner or ice cream(if I already had plans for dinner. lol), I said yes before he could even finish!

We spent 2 years doing the distance thing, it was hard, but we made it work. Now over 4 years later, we are married and in love more than ever! I still need to see Lady Antebellum in concert though! :-)
