The other post about online dating inspired me to ask, and I love hearing stories about how couples met!

We both attend an HBCU- Historically Black College or University. Most of the white students here are locals who attend the school so that they can live at home and save money, but I don't have an HBCU near me, I've just always wanted to attend one since I was a little girl, so I moved 7 hours and into a dorm room to be here. So of course, I am one of the few to have a meal plan and eat in the café. I was eating dinner with a group of my friends one night when he walked by and saw me, he was instantly attracted to me and we had a mutual friend. Later he asked her what my name was, but she played dumb and told him she didn't know, not knowing if I would be interested or not. Later that night I went on a long walk with a couple of friends including the mutual one, took some pics and tagged her in one on Facebook. He saw the tag, added me and asked me out.

We started talking on a social media site. My profile picture was of me shooting a handgun at the range. We talked every night as I worked overnight shifts and he had trouble sleeping. 4 months later, we moved into together as roommates and 2 months after that, we were together. Been this way ever since. Our 2 year anniversary is next week.

We were high school sweethearts from 94 to 96. We broke up after I went to school. We saw each other a few times over the years but nothing special. Last year he saw me the day after Christmas as my family and I were driving to the movies. He drove up on is and scared the hell out of me. We started talking almost everyday. And we were an official couple 6 weeks later. Then engaged 8 weeks after that. He is the person I was always looking for and didn't realize I already had him.

    Judge me if you want.

I was dating one of his employees at the time, and he was married. We met for the first time when he invited all of his employees to his home for a grill over Memorial Day weekend. His wife was...something. My boyfriend was...abusive and rude and horrible and...stuff.

About a year after we met, my grandmother's health deteriorated rapidly as her cancer began to spread. I was spending most nights in the hospital with her to try and get her through until morning as overnight was the hardest time for her. Aaron had a traumatic injury at his job and ended up in the ICU of the same hospital I was in. His family had left for the evening when he texted me to let me know that they were moving him to a new room. My uncle was spending the night with me that night so I ran down to be with Aaron for his move since whenever someone so much as touched the bed he screamed in pain. He was just a good friend, but I wanted him to feel safe.

I spent the entire night running up and down from floor to floor to be with both my grandmother and my good friend who was in a lot of pain and completely alone. Fast forward about a week and he has left the hospital, and my grandmother has passed away in hospice care at her home. With a broken pelvis, wrist, and ankle, and in a massive boot to protect his leg, he catered my grandmother's funeral free of charge to the family. A day later his wife accused him of having an affair with me while he was in the hospital, and called my boyfriend to tell him the same. I broke up with him, and Aaron was thrown out of his house quite violently, still early on in recovery from his injury.

I started taking him to all of his doctors appointments, one a day for about a month. We just sort of happened after that. We had now been there for the hardest moments in each other's lives, and we knew pretty much from that point on that we would be there for every other moment to come.

And they lived happily ever after.

I've known FH since our early 20s - We met in college (thank you Greek life!) and have been inseperable ever since- after a year of long distance after we graduated, FH moved to VA and we've been lovin' life since- Now six years later, we're engaged and I'm so thankful <333

We met on Facebook. He started leaving little messages under my statuses. Superbowl of 2013, I invited him over for a little party my father was throwing. We had a good time. Started dating, and now we're engaged. Gotta love football!!!!

My FH works with my best friend. She was flipping through pictures of a a vacation that her and I went on and my FH walked by seeing me and thought I was "super cute" so he Facebook friended me. I had a boyfriend at the time then another and our circles kept bouncing into each other for 5 years. As the time went by more and more people thought we would be perfect for each other and when the time finally lined up I was single and he was still waiting I brought him peanut butter brownies at work he asked me out and we have never looked back. I knew about a month into dating he is the man for me my prefect match. Timing is everything some times

I met my FW on POF. We went on one date. I had my 1 year old with me at the time. I barely gave her a chance. Afterword, I said I felt nothing. I couldn't even make eye contact! I was scared and she saw right thru me. We kept in touch for the next year and then all of a sudden I felt the urge to start really talking to her. She sent flowers to my work. We saw each other again the following day, when I kissed her. The next day I asked her to be my girl. A little over a year later, she asked me to be her wife!

I hate to admit this, but Tinder. I had just broken up with a long term boyfriend and wanted to take my mind off of him. I agreed to go out on a date, but wasn't interested in pursuing anything other than just friends. He seemed pretty cool and we had a lot in common, but I still wasn't ready to officially start dating again. He kept asking to go out again though and after so many times I finally agreed to see him again. I'm glad I did and I'm glad he never gave up no matter how many times I turned him down Smiley smile weird how things just turn out the way they do

I was on vacation with my best friends family in Assateague, Maryland. Little did I know that I was going to meet this incredibly handsome, and all around amazing man, who she was related to, who I instantly clicked with. And the rest is history

I met my FH in my sophomore (his junior) year of high school in the AFJROTC room in which we were both heavily involved. Our relationship then was strictly flirting for quite a while. At the time, he was more of the pretty boy player type and wasn't really interested in anything super serious (I like to say that I tamed the beast! Smiley laugh). Fast forward, he's a senior and I'm a junior. He's had his round of beautiful girlfriends, and all the while I'm thinking, why is he giving plain Jane me the time of the day? Our relationship started to change and get more serious. I remember one day we were in the choir room at our school, and he out of nowhere looked at me and said, "you're gonna be my wife someday." I thought he was crazy as hell. Lol. Finally, on June 1, 2013, the day after he graduated from high school, FH asked me to be his girlfriend. Looking at his past girlfriends, I was so sure that this wasn't going to be anything more than a fling. BUT I WAS WRONG! 3 years and almost three months later, FH asked me to be his wife on August 28, 2016, and now I get to marry him in July!

Me and my fiance met online on a site called meetme.com. On there they have this secret admirer thing, so kind of like Tinder, you swipe yes or no. And then the secret admirer has a group of pictures of girls or guys and they have 3 chances to choose the right person. I think it was an hour later, he chose me on the Secret Admirer game and he emailed me. We hit it off. I gave him my number and we started texting and talking on the phone and for both of us there as instant connection. A few days later, we met on a Saturday, it was August 13, 2016 and again, there was instant connection. I felt like I've known him for years or I've met him or was with him in a past life. We started dating that day. We've had our ups and downs, like any couple. We've gone through a lot together which really made us strong individually and stronger in our relationship. We've been together for a little over a year now and he asked me to Marry him last month. Our wedding is next year so we have plenty of time to plan it but we're both so excited. I can't wait to Marry the love of my life and my best friend. We have a dog together, she's a Bull Terrier and her name is Bonita, she's our child. I can't help always thinking how lucky I am to have someone like him. He's so Chivalrous to me, so selfless, incredibly loving and extremely gorgeous.
