How are you decorating the get away car?

FMS, the barefoot wife!, on June 24, 2010 at 6:20 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13

I was curious how everyone was decorating the get away car for the big day? I was just going to put ribbon on the antenna and use window chalk to decorate the windows...I was also going to decorate the car me & my MOH are going to my parents house the morning of the wedding.. I was going to write Bride Mobile on the back window..lol

We aren't decorating the car because we aren't leaving the hotel that our wedding will be at, but I found this a while back and thought it was cute

I haven't thought of this... we are getting a Limo, but I thought that your bridal party decorated your car... but I've never been to a wedding where they decorated the car... so i'm a little fuzzy...

We're being driven away by one of my dad's friends who has a 1956 Bel-Air so we can't put anything on the car, but I think I will talk to him about maybe some glass chalk for the back window. And the BMs are definitely decorating our rental car for the honeymoon (but we're washing that stuff off as soon as we get there for fear we'll be robbed or something hahahaha).

I'm in the same boat as Kelsey. We have a limo just for a quick pick-up (the ceremony and reception are in the same place so we just needed a ride home). There won't really be time to decorate. The window clings are cute, though, bc they'd be quick and easy.

We arent... every wedding I have been to it has been the MOH and best mans responsibility... and ill admit sometimes they get a little dirty! But thats the risk I take (its kinda tradition around here)

My FH has an old Pontiac that he wants in the wedding because he and his father restored the car together. His father passed away and thats sort of memorializing him. We are going to use those window clings, just hope it sticks. It's just for pictures anyway.

Typically the best man is responsible for this.

I got pulled over leaving my wedding (to my ex). Cop was just waiting for someone like me to come along. Hmm. Decorated car. Check. Lots of gifts visible. Check. Losing cans. Check. "Hey he's littering I can pull him over. Dag nab it, he was just married, I bet he's drunk!" Needless to say, after doing field sobriety tests, he let me go, and I didn't even get a written warning. Just remember, a decorated car, is an invitation...

@ Matt~ Baaahahaha! I have this wonderful mental image of myself on the side of I-75 doing a sobriety test in my wedding dress. I don't think I'd even be mad. I'd just tell FS to take TONS of pictures so we could laugh at them later.

As for decorating the car...I'll leave the WP to do that.

I think it's a bit tacky to decorate your own car. Leave that to the wedding party. I do like the idea of decorating the car you are taking.

As for me and my man- we're taking a firetruck from the reception to the hotel, so no decorating!

We are walking back to the hotel, 2 blocks, so there is no decorating.
