Hi Michelle! I am struggling emotionally. I am a very positive person and being this weekend was to have been my bachelorette weekend in New Orleans Essence Festival. I have to hold I my emotions from feeling guilty about it with so many deaths and unhappiness. I am venting here because I feel my brides family would be able to relate. I am so heart broken. I am at the point that I don’t even want to have a wedding. 2 years of planning a sea coal day for actually our guest. The little personal items for our guest. Now having to move it to May of 2021 and this virus more than likely will still be here and we won’t be able to do what we really wanted to. Then feeling selfish for wanting this. I literally feel sick to my stomach. I am so sorry to vent like this. I’m tearing up.

    Hi Nefetera!

I am feeling your feelings. When is your wedding scheduled for? I am so sorry you are going through this as well. A good friend of fine says it is healthy to feel bad and not to allow anyone to make you feel anyway about feeling how you are. I know this will pass but it is still a struggle and go through the stages of grief it is ok. Praying for all we brides...

With regard to Covid and our wedding… it sucks! But I feel so much relief about postponing a year to October 2021. Hopefully life will be more stable by next summer.

With regard to Covid and the country... I’m saddened by the deaths and highly disappointed in our “leader”, as well as, individuals who are just as ridiculously out of touch and don’t take the pandemic (or guidelines) seriously. So they perpetuate the spread of the virus. *I could go on and on about that. But this isn’t the place for it’s just a waste of energy anyway 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️

It has made me anxious and mostly angry seeing people completely ignore guidelines (looking at packed lakes and water parks over the weekend) and complain because they have to put a piece of cloth on their face for their 30 minute trip to the grocery store.

If you are younger with no pre-exisiting conditions, the odds are in your favor for survival, but you can still die from this virus (see Nick Cordero's story today which was heartbreaking- https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/nick-cordero-dies-covid-19-015516875.html). Also, no one fully understands the long term impacts.

My sister is having a small ceremony in a few weeks in a place that has been spiking, and they are talking about getting their hair/nails done and going to restaurants and I am pretty disgusted. I have to go to the wedding because shes my sister, but I am partly disgusted because I don't think they are taking this seriously enough.

Hi I do agree with you. Our country does need better leadership and it’s FRUSTRATING with people not complying with the guidelines. I went into Macy’s the other day and a family of 4 all of them but one has the mask and the one who hadn’t was on the phone and speaking loud.they were looking for something therefore the cashier ask me to come to the register. I looked at her and them several times and said are they 6 feet away from the counter? I was furious the cashier did not ask the lady to put on her mask or get a managertondeal with the situation. Being I am too old to be fighting I kept my mouth shut. Lol things like that will make me not want to give my business to Macy’s.. the lady was sprawled all over the counter ( I kid you not). similar situation in Publix - My daughter and I went to pick up groceries and there was this man on his phone speaking loudly ( No mask) and was over the fresh produce . To me your spitting on the fruits. I won’t get started and end there.

I rescheduled our reception to next year and I’m having my ceremony this year and honestly I have felt like throwing the towel in on the reception. It sucks cause I didn’t get a bachelorette or a bridal shower so I’m making the absolute most of my ceremony. I’ve been feeling very down about wedding planning for next year because like you said the virus isn’t going anywhere.

I’m moving forward with my wedding this August, and some days I feel like a crazy person for it. We are doing the best we can with everything given the situation, but I honestly can’t wait to be done planning this wedding and all that comes along with it. I think you’re being hard on yourself.... You are allowed to be disappointed, angry, sad, etc. I don’t think it’s selfish to wish things were different and to want to find a way to give yourself the wedding you deserve! These are crazy times and everyone needs to do what is best for them. We have to believe that things WILL get better! Sending you positive thoughts and well wishes. 💕

I have a lot of anger. Also a lot of feeling of hopelessness. That’s my short answer. I have been having a ton of rants this past week.

Virtual hugs. Thanks for starting this post. It felt good just to say that to someone besides my fiancé.
