Guys. I can't believe I'm not invited to your wedding.

Trixie325, on June 5, 2016 at 10:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 103

I didn't think it wouldn't happen.. but today I had someone message me with "i can't believe I'm not invited to your wedding" ...now let's keep in my that said person is my mom's best friend's daughter whom I'm friends with on Facebook and haven't physically seen or talked to in years; outside of small social media conversations... I'm just in awe of some people and their audacity... anyone else have this happen?

    Ew.

I had a high school friend that I haven't seen or talked to in almost 10 years comment "Congratulations! I can't wait to get my save the date!" when I posted on Facebook that FH proposed. Granted, we WERE friends, but I've never even had his phone number and haven't even chatted with him on social media in years.

I had an old acquaintance's mom text another acquaintance's mom and say "Alexandra thinks she's not invited to the wedding because she's pregnant and I think thats why too."

Errrr she's actually not invited cause I haven't talked to her in 4 years

I had a girl send FH a text saying something was wrong with her mailbox/mail man and she hadn't gotten our STD yet. I was pissed! We never sent her one in the first place.

This makes me scared to send my invites. Many college friends that I haven't seen in ages that I can see doing this.

Do you respond? Wait till you cool off, cause that would piss me off. Maybe be tasteful and apologize that the wedding is smaller and the venue can only accomodate so many.

A girl I don't even know (she's a friend of a friend) she was tagging me in all of these wedding posts and whatnot and commented on my wall "since you're going to be getting so many gifts, I wouldn't be mad if u slid me a blender at your wedding because more than likely you'll get a few of them lololol"

A family friend (who was NOT invited to my nephew's bday party) showed up with a whole entourage of people (her roommate, roommate's son, and roommate's mom) to my nephew's party, she came over to me and started asking about my wedding. I kept my mouth shut and just said "it's going well"

My mind is just blown... I would never confront someone like that even prior to understanding how much a wedding costs!!

@Nacia after talking with my mom about it, she said to not respond as she's confident that the girl is merely trying to start drama. Though I would love to reply with a good meme!

I've only had one person say something. She & her husband were originally on the guest list, but when we started making cuts, work friends were the first ones to go. I just told her it was a very small wedding, 72 people max. She understood.

Well y'all have seen my smart ass comments on this board. I expect my circle of "friends" and acquaintances will get rather small when I respond to this type of bullshit.

FWIW Trixie my response would have been, "I can't believe you thought I wanted you there."

See what I mean???? This is why FH wants to get me a muzzle and to take away my internet privileges.....

    Le Sigh.

I had a co-worker joke about where her wedding invite was. I NEVER talked wedding at work, and she kept asking, which made me uncomfortable. I just told her we were keeping it small with just family & friends (even though I did have 2 coworkers I'm close to there).

    Gym Rat. Lol.

I actually haven't gotten this with invites yet - but I have gotten 2 questions on when my shower is from people not invited to the wedding.

I got super uncomfortable and said I am not sure if I was having a shower. The second time I remembered to follow up with that my wedding mostly family.... ugh

It's just SUCH and inconsiderate, selfish, and uncomfortable thing to bring up. This isn't a birthday party or bbq (I mean maybe it is for some, no judgement...) so try to be respectful!!

I've these 2 people from back home who called my mom the other day to ask her for the wedding date so they can start saving to buy their tickets. ($465 each).

I just laughed when my mom told me about it.

A few days after my sister's wedding last year, one of the girls she was friends with in high school (but wasn't close friends and hadn't spoken in a couple years) posted something on Facebook about "another friends wedding she wasn't invited to..." I couldn't believe it haha! I hope she can later understand how rude that is when she plans her own wedding.
