I'm just in awe of some people and their audacity... anyone else have this happen?

@Lorith, I can't believe you're going through that - have you been able to explain to her why she wasn't invited? Or is she just venting at you?

I've had students demand to be invited and whine when I tell them no (they're high school kids!). I've had a few threaten to crash my wedding, to which I told them I'd call the cops.

Sounds harsh, but they're not the happy nice kiddos that are saying these things.

@SomethingOrange Yeah, I explained but she is still butthurt. She is being really passive aggressive, and occasionally just plain nasty in her messages... I'm partially just entertained at this point because I just can't feel bad. We only had 24 guests at our wedding...

@hickchick. Yup. Got that one too except it was the ex's wife who asked if she could come. Ummm. No.

My aunt called me upset because my cousin (who is over 18, but lives at home) didn't get his own invitation and he's not listed on their's, but he got his own STDa few months ago. She wanted to know what he did that he's not invited to the wedding because he's very upset. *sigh* He did get an invitation. They were just delivered a day apart. It was in her mailbox as we spoke, she just hadn't checked the mail yet.....

@lorith and to ask you to get rid of your cat. Oh hell no. I'd be cutting ties with her for good after that!

Right?! Lol. It's so ridiculous. I'm most likely going to block her on FB and her phone number.

TWICE! Both of them were people from FHs family who since we've been together (6 years) he hasn't spoken to. We ended up inviting them because we felt pressured and had to boot people off the guest list who we wanted there. Turns out one of the sets of couples can't attend *insert rage mode here*.

Learn from my error, invite who you want not people who make you feel obligated to invite.

It's always the crazies that pull this crap. We have an old high school friend who was trying to score a wedding invite from my FH. His ex, who is also our friend, was invited. We absolutely didn't invite him because he is mentally unstable. He is way too volatile and would not be able to control himself with his ex girlfriend there. I don't want any attempted murders at my wedding! He's been showing up at my FH's music gigs basically begging for an invitation. My FH just changes the subject, but it's super awkward. Total Desperation.

My coworker asked almost daily if there had been enough declines for him to be able to come. And mentioned to every person that came in our office to congratulate me that he had not been invited. It was an uncomfortable year!

Well I ended up replying to her per my mom, she slept on it and decided it would be best to just say "unfortunately even some family members are pissed they aren't invited either". She hasn't read it yet but I'm sure the response will be interesting.. ..

A couple that my dad and stepmom are friends with were over at my dad's one night when I called him, and we started talking about wedding stuff...and Dad said, "Hey, [couple's name] are getting invited right?" Like uh...I've met them once...

LaBo- same thing has been happening to me. Little did I know that the place I'm renting my ceremony chairs from is owned by the parent of one of them and employs a ton of the students. So that should be fun...
