I was talking yo my sweet sweet grandma on the phone today and she told she bought an ivory pant suit for the wedding and wanted to know if it's okay. She said it has some burgundy accents but it's mostly ivory. Now, I don't think she's trying to upstage me, and I'm not worried about people...

I was talking yo my sweet sweet grandma on the phone today and she told she bought an ivory pant suit for the wedding and wanted to know if it's okay. She said it has some burgundy accents but it's mostly ivory. Now, I don't think she's trying to upstage me, and I'm not worried about people mistaking her for the bride. I was just kind of shocked that she even bought and ivory wedding outfit to begin with, especially for a November wedding. When she asked me if that was okay, I was a little caught off guard. I told her I wasn't sure and wondered how it might look next to my ivory dress in photos. She did go shopping with me so she knows my dress. On one hand, she's old do she kiiiiind of gets a pass. On the other hand, she asked and I'm not sure how I feel about. Any advice or opinions on what you would do or how to handle it? Thanks.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen posted on WW. I feel like it has to be a joke. You're beyond blessed that you still have your grandma. If my gram were alive I would let her come in a matching wedding dress. This post makes you sound extremely immature and self centered.

If Memie were here TO attend our wedding, I'd buy her a damn wedding gown to wear to the wedding if that's what she wanted.

I really don't see this is an issue.

If you can possibly be upstaged by your granny in a pantsuit, you're doing bridal wrong.

My grandma can't come. She's in a walker and her health has taken a turn, which means the majority of my family won't be coming. I wouldn't care what she wore, but then again grandma hates white, she thinks it impractical even for a wedding dress!

It used to be fashionable for guests to wear ivory or champagne so go Grandma!

I agree with everyone else, grandparents can wear whatever they want. I'd let my grandparents show up in a white ballgown and tux if they were still here.

Tell her it was great that she considered your feelings, but you want her to wear whatever she feels beautiful in.

The no-white-after-Labor-Day rule has been dead for years. Pick up a Vogue or Cosmo sometime. Sounds like grandma has more of a pulse on fashion trends than the OP does.

I like the idea of a gifting her a burgundy shawl.

Honestly, if my grandmothers were alive I would be happy with whatever they wear. They both passed when I was very young. Cancer is a bitch.

I would LOVE to see a transcript of this conversation. In my head, it goes like this:

Grandma: Dearest, I bought a new pantsuit to wear to your wedding. It was on sale down at the Macy's. The only issue is that it's ivory. Is that okay with you?

OP: Well, Grandma, let me ask the Internet wedding forum first.
