I agree, I've tried to eat it a few times but it's never as tasty as buttercream!

Obviously we haven't decided anything yet but I don't really like the taste of fondant and neither of us like buttercream icing so I have been thinking of maybe going with chocolate icing or whipped cream icing if that's even possible.

I feel like all cake needs a little moisture from frosting of some sort, so slather on that buttercream!!! Smiley cake

Buttercream all the way. Fondant looks beautiful, but doesn't taste as delicious as buttercream does, and I've actually not seen the naked cake thing until I started using this site. I like, and pardon the word--haha--exceptionally moist cake, and I am personally partial to buttercream frosting (haha), so I don't think I would go with the naked cake, as neat as they look.

I've been loving the semi naked look, it's nice for because it's not too much icing! That'll be so pretty and yummy!

It was so good!!! I've seen a lot of people complain on here that a naked cake is too dry but luckily we did not have that problem Smiley smile

A semi naked cake will look awesome!! It's the perfect amount of frosting for those who are more sensitive!

We decided to use Buttercream. Our baker was straight-up honest with us and told us that fondant has a "different' taste and advised against it if we've never had it. Plus, it cost more! lol

I think we are going to skip the cake. We are either going to do cupcakes or a small sweet and savory bar.

Buttercream. All the way. What's the point in paying close hundreds of dollars on something I wont enjoy eating? Buttercream still looks very pretty!

You definitely can do either one!! I've been to a wedding where they had whipped cream icing and it was delicious!
