    Save/splurge.

4 bridesmaid bouquets + bridal bouquet, two mother corsages came in just under $500 and then I added the two swags ($300) for the copper arbor my dad is building. Decided I didn't want to try and make that with artificial flowers.

Flowers, after tax and delivery, are coming in around $930.

Was hoping for just the $500 price, but I know I'm going to really enjoy getting married under fresh flowers -- and it will be such a beautiful statement piece for our ceremony. Otherwise we're not dressing the venue up too much.

Save. Get a few real and the rest fake. No one cares and the real ones wilt and die.

That's so handy!! What flowers will you have at your wedding?

Are you sticking to a specific color scheme?

    Save. Artificial all the way.

My wedding is Harry Potter and so I have book pages for my bouquet and my bridesmaids. Same with the buttonholes, HP themed. It'd be kinda hard to get 'green' flowers to represent Slytherin (which I am!), so... it worked out to do it that way. Plus, I don't have to worry about any of them looking 'dead', day of. Easy to replace via craft store, too -- with any mishaps. I don't see any reason to spend $$ on something that's going to die, but I get the beauty behind it. I've never been much of a flower person, so it probably makes me hecka biased.

This is what I wanted when I envisioned the flowers, yes! I didn't make it on my own, but my original desire was to have pages made into flowers from the books. My bouquet is from Etsy and it was all super affordable, way less than what I would have spent if I had done real flowers (all of my people can keep their bouquets and buttonholes, too!). My bridal party has individual colors to stand out from me and they have roses.

To give you an idea of what my bouquet looks like!

Fresh flowers are so expensive, it's ridiculous! I believe in a little bit of splurging mixed with some savings, if that makes sense. I think it's all about how you imagine your big day and what you see! I was all about the real flowers, I love fresh flowers, how they look, how they smell. I wanted large centerpieces with lots of pretty fall colored flowers. I wanted a very full, round bouquet with very specific flowers in my bridal bouquet so I was willing to splurge for exactly what I wanted. And I wanted a few different style centerpieces with lots of flowers. To save some, one of our centerpieces had baby's breath in the top of a large gold vase. The baby's breath was taken from the ceremony space and used in the reception. I think flowers are worth having, but you can be smart about it and find cheaper ones to display to save some money.

Save. I'm thinking of having a single statement flower for my bridesmaids and our centerpieces aren't flower centered. I will be using whatever flowers are in season too.

I'm thinking either a rose, lily of some sort, or amaryllis (my favorite).

Save(ish). I'm going to order a sola wood bouquet for myself and likely get a corsage for the moms. Beyond that, I'm planning to get flowers from Trader Joe's for decoration.
