Fiance not excited about PLANNING!

PSanida, on January 30, 2010 at 12:39 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

He doesnt care about any of the planning!? How can he not? Is this normal? I keep trying to get his involvement and he says its way too early to start planning even though we set a date...I'm so confused...

Don't worry....most guys aren't in to the planning thing..he'll come around....maybe give him a responsiblity like the honeymoon or the music and as time gets closer, he'll surprise you!

That is completely normal. But trust me it is not to early to start planning. I am after you and already have our ceremony/reception venue, florist, D.J, photographer, decorater and we meet with the cake baker the 13th of February. It is never to early to start planning :-).

Most guys ARE like that so its completely normal. No one will be ever as excited about planning your wedding as you are. Especially not the guys.

Also, your wedding date is kinda far away so to him its not even "real" yet. It'll hit him when its closer to the date and he actually has to do things - like the tuxes etc. But I wouldn't take it personally that he isn't excited about planning now. Most guys just want to show up in a tux on the big day and get married. and that's where their planning begins and ends lol.

Yeah my fh does one thing at a time and will not even discuss most things with me (he says its an "auditor" thing but i think its all men being programed to annoy there ladies jk my fh is great... most of the time) but i found my dress and i had picked my daddy daughter song earlier today so i mentioned that we still need a song for our dance and he is like we havent got your dress yet (which is true only because its one i had to order since davids bridal doesnt have all of the band colors in stock.) so i am stuck waiting till it comes in to do ANYTHING... oh welll... oh and one bride on here (sorry the name eludes me because of the late hour) mentioned that she only talks of the wedding during meetings they schedule... i think that may help... you do have plenty of time and just find out what you like so you dont have to change your mind 50 times once he starts paying attention... men hate that... trust me i learned the hard way...

Most guys are not into wedding planning. My FH is very helpful and supportive when I give him a project to work on. Best advice, give him some time and he'll come around.

We are starting to get RSVPs back and he is finally getting excited. It's never too early to start planning so do your looking now and get his opinion on things.

Mine still isn't into it which is fine with me bc I get to do what I want. We're having a destination wedding and I wanted to book it as soon as airfare was released. Well after I booked, he piped up with some suggestions! I was ready to smack him!

I'm doing all of the planning and enjoying all of it! I'll ask his input every so often on some things but other than wanting a brown suit he knows with my mothers help the wedding will look great.

Be glad he isn't the kind of rare guy that wants to plan more than you do! haha I've heard of horror stories where the girl is wanting to plan but the guy tries to take over Smiley tongue

Exactly! He told me the only things he specifically wanted, and as long as I go with that he's happy and I'm happy getting to do what I want.

Mine isn't as excited about planning as I would hope and it makes me worry a little. I know most guys don't care too much about planning but should be excited bc they are about to spend the rest of their life with someone......
