Dress decisions: are you adding extra details?

Lynnie, on April 10, 2018 at 11:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 38

Last dress question!!! Are you adding any extra details to your dress? A belt, a pop of color in the petticoat, new straps or sleeves? Tell us about your extra embellishments!

Are you adding any extra accents?

I ordered extra tulle from the bottom of my dress to make off-the-shoulder straps. I'm excited to see how they turn out! My alterations lady is awesome so I'm looking forward to this.

I added a sash/belt to mine. It just looked less stunning without one.

I'm having a keyhole cut out added to the back of my dress. I'm also adding a sparkly belt.

While I originally wanted to have a belt no matter what I picked, I've decided against it. My dress has a sort of classic, vintage elegance to it and stands out enough on its own

I'm adding a belt. It has clips in the back, but my dress has a corset back so the seamstress will shorten it and attach it to the dress itself so I don't lose the look of the corset at all.

I will be adding flutter sleeves (my dress is currently strapless), having a black sash/ belt sewn on, along with changing the color of the corset ribbon on the back from white to black.

My dress was supposed to be lace, but couldn't find a gold shade that wasn't a hint of green; the designers instead found gold beading and that was sewn onto my dress instead.

My dress was sold as seperates so I was able to choose the top I wanted, and I ordered a colored underskirt instead of a white one for a pop of color. I'll also probably be modifying the neckline to make it lower and more of a sweetheart, and maybe adding a belt. I'm all about changing your dress to fit you and making it yours.

Recently decided to wear a very thin crystal belt. Noticeable enough to add some sparkle, but not so much that it'll take away from the lacework.

My seamstress changed the crinoline to make my skirt fall in a horsehair pattern, then we added lace sleeves, and she's putting extra crystals on too.

My dress has some buttons on the back. I’m having more added to extend all the way down the back and down the train.

I completely changed the top of my dress- I added straps/lace back and sleeves and cut the back down to a V that went to the belt. It looks like a completely different dress and I was SO in love with it.

I'll be adding a v-neck to my dress (currently a high neckline) and then for the ceremony (and some pictures) I'm wearing a rose/blush colored long sleeve lace topper over it! Just ordered it from Etsy Smiley smile

My mum can't take photos too well haha but it's an all satin dress (also ignore dot on face, posted elsewhere but wanted to keep anonymity)Dress decisions: are you adding extra details? 6
