Experts say that going to bed at the same times is a healthy habit in a relationship. Probably because it gives time for intimacy and puts you on the same schedule! But in real life, sleep schedules aren't always that easy to coordinate! Do you and your future spouse go to bed at the same time?...

Do you and your future spouse go to bed at the same time? Never, always, or sometimes?

99% of the time, the only way we don’t is if one of us is feeling bad, but usually the other one is there snuggling even if we aren’t falling asleep. Falling asleep together is important to us and thankfully works with our schedules!

We try to, however H likes to be in bed at 9:30 (hes a school bus driver so he needs to be well rested) and many nights I don't get home until that time (or later). I have dinner and watch TV or chill on my phone for about an hour before I go in to bed (I can't lay down right after I eat). On weekends or nights when I'm home earlier we go to bed at the same time. If I'm not tired I will just go on my phone for a bit before falling asleep.

We don't live together or sleep together yet so I wouldn't really know from experience. But, I will say that I tend to be the one who falls asleep first in our convos and chats. He and I are both night owls though so... who knows.

Always. He goes to bed around 9, and gets up at 430 am. I get up around 530. Going to bed when he does helps me actually stay on a sleep schedule and sleep well.

I had insomnia quite often before we started living together and I started having a regular bedtime.

Never, I'm always tired for work. I normally fall asleep first and wake up first.

Sometimes -- unfortunately we have opposite schedules right now (have for the last two years). FH works second shift and he is in the Air Force, so we has traveled 3-7 months out of the year the last three years. In his civil job, he works second shift so he is not home until 1am. I work 12 hour shifts during the day, 3-4 shifts a week. We only get normal sleep together on Saturday & Saturday nights, and during that time we ALWAYS go to sleep the same time.

Come fall, we will both be on normal work hours--him finally on first shift, and me transitioning back into teaching--so that will be SO NICE! Especially in time for the wedding!Smiley smile

We enjoy the luxury of going to bed together now but it wasn’t always that way with differing schedules over the years! (8.5)

    Almost never.

I work dinner shift at a restaurant, he works the opening shift at Starbucks. I go to bed when he gets up... the weekends are a little easier to mesh schedules, but only a little. I'm a chronic night-owl, and nearly 7 years of opening shifts, he's usually zonked by 10PM...

Never. Although we have very similar schedules, my partner thinks I go to bed too early so he is up for a few hours after me. He is also a gamer, so that’s his time to stay up on the computer. It’s nice to know there are other couples who don’t go to bed together, I always feel like I’m alone in this 😂 but I can’t convince my FH to come to bed with me.

Currently we do. I just finished college and was working a student job, so now that I'm not working I can be on his crazy schedule. He works nights.

Not really. Sometimes it's on time and sometimes sleeping time is late.

For the most part we both work M-F. He is a middle school math teacher and I’m a marketing manager so we both have longer hours. 😁

Always! Our schedules are very different (I teach middle school and get up very early. But we always go to bed at the same time and watch an episode of a show we both like in bed. Then I usually fall asleep early and he’ll watch a little more TV before going to falling asleep too.
