NWR-St. Patrick's Day!(The easily offended need not read.)

Labake , on March 13, 2012 at 8:33 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 34

Who is doing anything fun for St. Patrick's day? We have our annual party coming up. Any ideas? tips? We're going to stay in. Can't stand amateur hour at the bars.

Not sure yet what we will be doing, although it is one of DH's close friends' birthday. I think they are going paintballing during the day. We may go out for a drink or two in the evening, but I'm not a big drinker and DH has to be at work at 545 AM on SUnday.

We've never been able to celebrate St Patrick's Day so we're super excited! Going to head to the parade around noon, and then from there, barhopping :-)

@Ab Z. Paying six dollars per pint for poor service and dealing with drunk drivers gets old.

I love going out on st. patty's day, but then again i'm almost 100% irish haha :] ..as far as 'amateurs' that's who the cops are generally after, most definitely don't drink & drive any day, much less march 17!

Well since I can no longer drink Guinness and that green beer crap they try to pawn off on us during StPatty's was never an option Probably going to go to the crazy fusion cajun/irish pub down the street for dinner then watch my irish movies from Boondock Saints and ending with The Secret of Rhone Inish and drinking one shot Jameson one shot Bushmills & Ginger Smiley smile till I pass out and dream of Sean Patrick Flannery with all those tatoos Smiley smile

I am 0% Irish but FH's is almost 100%. His grandmother loves to pretend she doesn't speak English and curse you in Gaelic.

I have always been working St. Patrick’s day. That usually makes me the designated driver. I’m excited that I actually get to enjoy the day. Plus, it’s on a Saturday!

^^ had to do it in response to your title. lol (all in good fun!!)

Since it's on a Saturday this year we might go down town but it's undecided. We may just get drunk in the comfort of our own home. I've got a little irish in me from my mother's side. (Dad's side is all czech)

St. Patty's is FH favorite holiday. We usually make some bright green melon liquor to celebrate. We haven't done that yet, but we may be able to make it happen. I imagine we'll spend the evening downtown hitting our favorite bars...umm...all 2 of them...haha! We generally prefer to stay home and enjoy our porch with our neighbors. So who knows!?

I love the pic! St. Patty's is our favorite holiday. It's actually the anniversary of four FIRST ever real date! We're putting together our invitations during the day (it's going to be raining here in LA), then playing Settlers of Catan with some friends in the evening. Smiley smile

Edited to add: @Rachel H. I LOVE BOONDOCK SAINTS!

I came across this super cute idea. I'm thinking of trying it out & thought I would share :o) It doesn't have alcohol, it's just a cake. I'm sure it would be a LOT of fun to make with kiddos.

    OMG I love that cake!!!

We will be participating in some amateur hour style drinking at the bars downtown. All the girlys are meeting at my place, hopping in a taxi & we will be drinking to excess & regretting it the next day!

My FH is in Japan working for 8 weeks Smiley sad and my friends FH is going to be on his bach party cruise so a girls night out was in order!!
