My FH and I met on Match, June 2016. I was over the whole dating thing and was about to just give up when I saw his profile. I thought "what the heck, he'll never respond back" and I winked at him. The next morning...I had a message from him! We chatted back and forth for a few days then he sent me his cell number and I texted him. He then invited me to ice cream for our first date....and I was smitten. We went on a few more dates and we've been inseparable ever since. Our wedding is March 2019!

My fiance and I met on OkCupid. It was kind of funny, because I wasn't actually trying to get a relationship out of it. I had created the account at the end of my junior year of college because my roommate wanted to try it and she wanted someone to do it with her. At first, it was just a joke to me and I didn't pursue any dates. Then my senior year I went back to it with the intention of dating casually (I had been a "serial girlfriend" up to that point and wanted to try dating without being in a relationship for once). Well, the universe had other intentions for me! I didn't go on any other dates before my FH messaged me. I checked out his profile and I remember thinking to myself "wow, we are pretty much the same person." We had our first date after a week or so of messaging each other, and immediately hit it off. We continued dating...but I was still stubborn about not wanting to be in a relationship so I turned him down when he asked to be my boyfriend. It didn't help that it was my senior year and I knew I would be moving somewhere else after graduation, so I thought it would be bad timing to get into something serious. But after dating for over a month and starting to fall for him, I finally gave in and said I'd be his girlfriend. I was still worried about what would happen when I had to move. Turns out he was serious enough about us that he started looking for jobs in the area that I would be moving to and we ended up moving there together! We were nervous about moving in together after only knowing each other for 6 months, but it went very smoothly and he proposed after 3 years.

All this came out of me trying NOT to have a serious relationship. I guess sometimes you really do find love when you're not looking for it.

He asked if I'd liked my time in France studying abroad and that he wishes he had done that during his time in college. Believe me....when he said ice cream I was so excited since it was something so different. I was the serial first dater...and his ice cream date was a breath of fresh air!

You can personalize Coke bottles!? This is going to be a game-changer when Christmas comes!! My family is obsessed with Coke! I went to Coca Cola World in Atlanta this past year and we came home with an extra suitcase full of Coke stuff for them! Are the ones you customized in the glass bottles or the plastic ones? That's seriously such a good idea!! And I love the alliteration

I went for ice cream on my second date with my boyfriend and I ordered first (so of course I get an extra large with like 10+ toppings) and then he gets a little kiddie cup. And I ate the entire thing before he finished his kiddie cup. I still think I broke some kind of record with that. It's been a fun thing to look back on

We met on POF in February 2014. We talked for a few weeks before finally planning our first date for a Mexican restaurant, he offered to pick me up I declined so I could leave if he ended up being super weird😝 when we started talking at the restaurant we ended up knowing a few of the same people and that he had actually been to my house before on a few different occasions to pick up one of his best friends after a party. We stayed there talking until the restaurant closed and he very quickly asked for a second date later that week. He’s definitely my person, I can’t imagine anyone better for me than him❤️

We were supposed to leave on a Friday afternoon for my birthday trip to San Diego. Kind of at the last minute, he recommended driving out the next morning. Since, we decided to make it a “just the two of us” trip, we made dinner plans that evening with my best friend and two of my siblings (kind of a prebirthday deal). After dinner, he stopped me, and got down on one knee and asked, in front of them and a group of strangers passing by. I was completely speechless!

Definitely worth delaying our trip by a day. I had the most magical birthday trip that weekend!!❤️

Yes, we met on Black People Meet, he was matched to me and it is true, we have a lot in common with our values and thoughts. We've been together for 5 years and can't wait to be married next year.
