Destination wedding.. The night before

CKJL5410, on January 23, 2011 at 10:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Anyone who had/ is having a destination wedding,. What did you do the night before the wedding? Dd you stay in the same room get your own room? Stay with the girls in the wedding party?

We will probably go down to where the wedding is a few days early, so we will already have a room.. Should we stay somewhere else the days before to make the wedding night more special?

Opinions? Ideas?

We rented a big house with three units. We slept in the one-bedroom unit, family members (including the members of our wedding party) slept in the four-bedroom unit, and friends slept in the two-bedroom unit.

Then again, we got ready together as well. We weren't big on the whole bit of not seeing each other before the wedding.

Originally, before we decided to do destination, he was going tobstay at our house and I was going to a hotel with the girls. Now, I'm confused! Everything keeps changing.. For the better, but I finally make a decision and poof I change everything Smiley smile

We did a destination wedding. We had our hotel room, so I stayed there the night before and my husband was kicked out early in the morning so we could get ready. It's really all about what you are comfortable with.

We technically had a dw, as in it was 4 hours from our house haha. We went down on thursday and stayed in a bigger city close to the location with our kids and my bro/sil and mom/stepdad(20 minutes out) and then friday came into town where the wedding was and decorated and did the rehearsal and did final errands. Then that night I stayed with some of my girls and then my husband stayed with some of the guys. We ended up being directly across from each other but we all went out for a few drinks to chill and socialize and then came back and went to bed.

I know this thread is for destination weddings.. but what are your thoughts on what to do for the brides who are having their wedding where they live? After reading this post it got me to thinking what to do about the night before as well? Would the bride stay in the house by herself and maybe have her girls over and kick the FH out or what?

We are planning on staying in our hotel suite together the night before. He will leave early to go to his parent's suite while I get ready in ours. We leave that night to go somewhere else where we have a private villa rented for our honeymoon.

I just answered a similar question. We are all staying at the same inn. The FH and I will sleep together the night before. I was looking forward to a last round of good sex before we are a married couple. Sorry, if that is TMI>

He has to get dressed with his BM, and me with my MOH. The rooms are feet away so we will bump into each other. We are not dressing together out of superstition, and we are having a first look. I just don't want him around when I am getting dressed.

I stayed in the cabin we were renting all alone, and my husband to be stayed with his sister, BIL, nephew's cabin. I wish I would not had been alone, and I should have discussed this with some of my other family members, and I should have had one of them stay with me. I heard an awful noise, and was convinced that a black bear was on the porch of the cabin but was too afraid to peak out the one window on the porch because it had no curtain, lol. I think it was just a raccoon, but I can tell you don't be alone like I was in the middle of the woods!!!
