Corsage or Not to Corsage

LutaWolf, on December 16, 2010 at 12:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 32

My mother wanted the pearl set that I got for me and the girls instead of a corsage but his mother already has a pearl set and rarely wears them. So I got the pearl set for my mother as a christmas gift and went back to thinking about corsages but I'm really wondering if I should. My mom rarely wears corsages and everybody will know who they are by the colors they are wearing so should I. How many ppl are doing corsages and who isn't?

    I'm not doing corsages, they'll be able to identify my mom easily. She's the only female at the wedding over 40. Also I personally don't like corsages.

    Oh, a brooch could be quite nice. I think my mom was planning to wear one of her pins. I suppose I should start thinking about her outfit and my dad's outfit sometime soon.

    Both mom's and the grandma's will have wrist corsages at my daughters wedding. We're going very traditional.

    We're doing wrist corsages for our moms, my grandmas, and my older sister who isn't in the wedding party.

    Everyone knows who moms are when they're doing the entrance thing. I'm just giving them a single rose. Perhaps more, but it'll be a bouquet kinda thing, no corsage/wrist thing.

    I'm not doing them. In Irealnd it's customary to give the moms a bouquet but we're not doing that either as they won't be able to take them with them when they leave. Instead we are doing tea sets from teavana that we will present at the rehersal dinner.

    I did, and wished I hadnt.

    DH grandmother wore something light and the flower n pin kept falling over and pulling her shirt.

    DH Father's GF (not married) got all pissy that the Mom's had one and she didnt.

    The brooch is a great idea!

    My aunt and grandma just finished them Saturday. I love them! I would just ask your mother about it after Christmas.

    We have also been scratching our heads on this one, and think we are going with the single red rose. Also, since our wedding is more on the casual side, our MOH and BM do not want flowers of any kind either.

    @Andrene...The tea set is gorgeous!

    The brooch seemed to fit with everything, it's pearl which my mom will love and it's not exactly jewelry so it won't be tugging at his mom's skin.

    Luta, I love what you chose! Those are really cute! Smiley smile I may do those and then a bouquet.

    I just want something that they can keep, you know? Smiley smile

    Oh I totally understand you, that was my thinking too. Flowers are nice but I hate how you can't really keep them unless you stick them in the freezer.
