My mother wanted the pearl set that I got for me and the girls instead of a corsage but his mother already has a pearl set and rarely wears them. So I got the pearl set for my mother as a christmas gift and went back to thinking about corsages but I'm really wondering if I should. My mom rarely wears corsages and everybody will know who they are by the colors they are wearing so should I. How many ppl are doing corsages and who isn't?

I am getting the mothers as well as the grandmother small corsages that pin on the soulder. They didn't want anything on their wrists so I had them made small for the shoulder. I wanted them to feel included and because the families have never met before so the mothers and step-mother will be easily distinquished.

We solved that issue. Because it is a DW in Hawaii everyone gets a lei. They are colorful and even the men wear them. I love the smell of them.

Oh that's really quite pretty, I may have to steal that idea. My BM are carrying white roses with silver ribbon, so that would match.

Steal away, that's the whole point. To bounce ideas off eachother.

I had thought about giving my mom a single long stem rose (thought it would be cheaper perhaps) but I decided to not break tradition, because I like corsages myself. My mother is getting a very nice photo album with 5x7s and that will kinda be her keepsake item. My mother doesn't really wear any jewelry either though. I took my mom to have a manicure and pedicure for the wedding, and my mom has never done that and she really enjoyed it.

Even I don't really like corsages!

If she does need a flower - maybe a petite hand tied bouquet would be nicer.

We are not doing any. My mother is not a flower person and she wanted us to spend the money on other things so the decision was easy for us.

We did, but honestly I could have easily skipped them, given where the mothers were seated at the church and at the reception, in the receiving line, and in the wedding party introductions, there is no mistaking who the MOB and MOGs are.
