I plan on having a cash bar for our reception....I read in an article that was rude....should I just pay for the bar....I don't really want to because it's not in my budget

Cash bars are rude. No guests wants to go to a Wedding reception and have to pay for their drinks. Try beer and wine if you cannot afford alcohol if not may have to consider cutting back so you Can add wine and beer.

We are choosing a venue that allows outside liquor so we can costco it up. Hire a bartender.

I have been to wedding with cash bars and it was no big deal to me or any others. I am having a cash bar at my reception I am giving out $200 on drink tickets. It's a personal decision

Lol I love when the OP doesn't hear what they want to hear and they close with "I'm just gonna do what I want"

We know you are, but if you're asking if you SHOULD just pay for the bar or if it's rude, the answer is yes. Plain and simple.

She asked a question there is no need for so many of you to respond so rude.

If it's not in your budget then don't know it. I know everyone else says that it's rude but I am not having an open bar either but thats because of the demographics of our guest; it would literally be a waste of money.

It literally just took me an hour to catch up on this thread. Worth it. Also why is everyone defending cash bars a one star double ring avatar???
