I plan on having a cash bar for our reception....I read in an article that was rude....should I just pay for the bar....I don't really want to because it's not in my budget

Reasons to have a dry wedding: You and all your guests are 19; it is against your religion; you hate everyone you know. I can think of NO more reasons......

@Fall Bride - that's me!! My guests get a hospitality hour before the ceremony where they will get bevs and cookies/pastries. My ceremony begins at 7pm but I'm putting on the invite 6pm.

I went to a wedding once and we were 30 minutes late - I was so embarrassed. When we arrived everyone was in the lobby drinking and eating; I thought we walked in on the cocktail hour. Turns out it was the hospitality hour. wooo hooo - I loved it lol

Man, I am so mad to see I wasnt around to watch Alexandra get snarky with me for calling out the complete lack of reality her budget was based in, when it turns out she's splashing out on a whole $400 for alcohol for 95 friggin people, bought wholesale from the local costco. Without any wait staff or bartenders to speak of. Thats what.. a glass of wine per person unless you're buying some bottom barrel, undrinkable yellowtail garbage? Christ..

I was doing the color correction from hell. Smiley sad i wish just once, people would learn that lying about the 3+ years worth of dark brown box color on their heads isnt magically going to make me able to take them to blonde in one session...

Ahhh I so wanted a hospitality hour but we're marrying in a garden and we'd have to do a liquor license & hire a cop to supervise & a caterer and it got out of control. I'm sad we have to stick with just an open bar for the cocktail hour/dinner/whatever after party there is.

ETA: because all my plus signs disappear, and I never remember that will happen.

@Fall Bride @AMW I was thinking that - are guests going to get naked wasted before the ceremony? At least wait until AFTER the bouquet toss lol. But I need to double-check mine might not be alcohol. Might just be non-alcoholic beverages. I definitely know it's just cookies/pastries and the like.

DH brought me a mini bottle of scotch that we shared at our first look.

Now I'm wishing we had saved it for the ceremony. Part of his vows were "I'll always share my scotch with you, and cook you delicious food."

    lol
