That's a hard NO! I want it to be a romantic moment; not to mention I am paying a lot for my hair and make-up and I don't want to ruin that!

My husband said no way would he ever do anything like that to me. Our cake exchange was very tasteful and loving.

One of my regrets at my own wedding, is that I did this a bit to dh. I thought at that time, and at my tender age, that it was what everyone expected. Dh was not happy, and I'm sorry I did that. I didn't do it very badly, but I also didn't realize at the time how much he really didn't like cake!

I actually did my research on the traditions and I found somewhere that it was symbolic of you caring for each other no matter what (sort of like the in sickness part of the vows). The thought, then, of smashing them with cake instead of actually feeding them seemed disrespectful to me too!

Absolutely not. Even when I was a little girl and went to my aunts’ weddings, this tradition bothered me. And I still hate it.

Nope! FH said he’s doesn’t understand why people do that anyways and he said that’s definitely one night that he would not want me to be upset with him!

Absolutely no smash, it really shows a bride and Grooms immaturity if they can't feed each other a small piece of cake. Also, if anyone threatened to smash cake in my face wearing a gown that was worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars, I'd probably deck'em.

Wow, I didn't know there were such strong feelings about this topic lol. I smashed some in my husband's face and then he kissed me and got it all over me. It was fun and no big deal. I didn't really give it much thought Smiley smile

This is a hard pass for me! I don't even like cake and I certainly don't want cake all over my hair and makeup that I've paid for.

I don't think it is disrespectful if both parties are on the same page, but it's just not my thing. We've talked about it and FH knows not to even try it!

So FH walked through the living room just now as I was reading this, so I asked him. He asked what would happen if he did it, and I told him I’d withhold sexy time that night 😂

Im a hard no on this. He won’t do it because he knows I’d be pissed af. I’m not paying $200 for hair and makeup to get cake all over me.

Absolutely not. I'm not paying good money for hair and makeup, and cake for that matter, to have it ruined. I also think it's super disrespectful.

I thought my FH husband is the type that would do something like this and so it made me nervous. He usually the 'funny guy' and finds things funny that I don't. So I just flat out asked him not to and he looked at me like I was crazy and said he never would, especially not on our wedding day.

Heck yes! And he's getting cake in his face too! I'm not planning on having too much makeup on, so for me it's not a big deal, and we're very playful with each other so it'll be a fun moment to share Smiley smile
