I told FH I'm spending too much money on my makeup for him to put cake in my face. So we aren't haha

Heck no. I spent way too much money on my makeup for him to mess it up.

I’m going with no as well. I’ve never understood the appeal. I’m paying a professional to do my hair and makeup. I feel the cake smash cancels that out. It’s an odd tradition in my opinion.

    These responses! 😂
Its going DOWN at our reception. We never take ourselves seriously, so it'd be bizarre to just calmly feed each other. I'm considering buying a poncho as a joke.
We're doing our "cake" (actually donuts) after the first dance, so all of the important photos will already have been taken. And I'm doing my own hair and makeup, so it'll be easy to quickly touch up if I get too messy.

I think this "tradition" died a long time ago. No one is smashing any food in my face.

I never thought of this, but I would get annoyed like many said I’m paying a lot of money for hair and make up. I’m going to have to make sure I let my FH know that this is a no no. Lol

No way. I don’t necessarily think it’s “disrespectful,” especially if you’ve warned your SO that you’re going to do it, but I still think it’s a silly and childish tradition so not really my thing!

No thank you. Paying a bunch of money for my hair and makeup to look nice, and I don't want cake messing it up.

NOOOO! Paying too much money for hair and makeup to have it ruined by cake all over my face. FH absolutely hates cake so we are probably skipping this.

You can absolutely put your foot down on this one and tell your FS they better not even think about it.

I would totally be okay with it if I weren't spending money on getting my makeup and hair done. Any normal day, bring it on. Smiley laugh

NO, and I already told him I would be PISSED if he did that. Luckily, he's not the type. We're pretty goofy but not like that.

It's a hard and firm no for me. I don't know how this tradition got started but I want no parts of it. Period.
