Buffet style?? Are you putting dinnerware on table??

I had both.

We are having plates at buffet, but silverware and napkins at the tables

I had silverware and napkins at the table because I am always forgetting to grab silverware at buffets and I didn't want guests to have to go back. Plates I had at the buffet line.

We set the plates, silverware, and napkins at the tables with the centerpieces. DH thought it looked more classy than setting the plates at the buffet like a Golden Corral.

I'm with Melody-I am always forgetting to grab a napkin and silverware. So leave those at the table, plates need to be on the buffet line.

We are going to have the silverware and napkins at the table. I am very clumsy so I know my self carrying all those things back to the table something probably wouldn't make it .

The plates will be at the buffet.

I'm doing place settings because I think they look nice, and I didn't want to leave that out.

I don't think I have ever been to a wedding that did not have the cutlery, napkins, glass ware (and possibly a bread plate) at each place setting.

We had all of the above and the favors at each place setting.

We are setting everything on the table: plates, napkins and silverware. This is because we will be placing the favors on the plates. The favors are bags of cotton candy. I want to make sure everyone takes their's home....or eats it right away

It can work with the plates at the buffet.

@ hayley the pictures you posted is what I envision for our tables . With the napkin And menu along with the wedding favor cookie.

We had a backyard wedding, so because it was casual we used plastic clear silverware. I wrapped them in grey napkins and then tied a coral bow around them. There was one of those at each place setting. The plates were at the buffet.

Ours was a heavy hors d'oeuvres buffet. We had the plates, napkins, and silverware at the beginning of the buffet line, not on the tables.

We put all our place settings on the tables. I just thought it looked incomplete without the plates and stuff. Then guests just had to pick up the plates and take them to the buffet. Now, if a catering company is doing your buffet, you may have to talk to them about it.

Napkins, silverware and glasses for water were at each place seating. (Along with favors and centerpieces)

I would do plates on the buffet table, but all napkins, silverware and glassware on the table. No need to have plates on the table. That is just an extra step for your guests to do.
