I got engaged back in August and my fiancé and I aren't getting married until may 2018. My best friend is getting married this September and I originally asked her to be my bridesmaid.. being that she will be married by the time my wedding hits how do I go about "upgrading" her to be a matron of honor?

And to add onto this question because so many people left rude unnecessary comments and mocked me is im asking because a lot of people have told me the proper thing to do would make her a matron of honor being that she will be married at the time. So I figured hey why not and ask? Instead of thinking this was a positive helpful forum there are people here that have to insult and be negative

Other than the term "troll" (which means "fake user" that is only here to stirr up drama), where is the name calling. We also have gotten a ton of trolls in the past few days, and changing your avatar helps us to know that you are a real person.

Nobody was rude here. The question was answered. I don't get this. I just really don't.

How am i suppose to know that "troll" means "fake user" I don't. And joking about my question IS rude. How you don't see that is beyond me. It's unnecessary, like Mitzi said just answer someone's question nicely and move on. Not saying EVERYONE ON HERE was rude, for clarification

Hey Kim! Stick around and update your avatar so people can start getting to know you better. I can help with that if you need it. Check out the "Welcome New Users" post at the top of the forums for a lot of helpful info. And try to not take things personally. I didn't see anything here that was aimed at you personally or that violated the Community Guidelines. People are just having a little fun.

How is a meme that tells you that's not how this works rude? I'm assuming that's part of what you're referring to? I was just letting you know that's not how this works without having to type out a response. Memes are just better.

@Kim That's what I assumed when I read this. In many cases, you would pick your sister over your best friend as your MOH. But now, you have the opportunity to give your best friend the "of honor" title, as well. I think you could do that, and I don't think she would be offended (I wouldn't be). Talk to her (and your sister too, if you want) about having a new title because you love her and she is important to you. Hope this helps you figure it out.

@Kim, that is why Im telling you what was meant by the term "troll." However, anywhere on the internet the term "troll" has the same implication. Also, if you read the New User sticky you would have known to update your avatar, and people wouldnt have thought you were a troll.

Reddie: she doesn't want to "upgrade her" because she wants her in an honor position. She wants to because people told her she should just because said BM is getting married. If she's was already MOH then yes she would become matron by getting married. A married bridesmaid is still a bridesmaid.

Sorry WWlaura but I won't be sticking around and using a forum where I don't feel comfortable asking a simple question about my wedding. Some people are "having fun" "joking" but things to me were offensive and you may not see it, but we're two different people with different views and I felt ashamed after asking a question. I was just looking for a helpful answer and not having my question questioned or my grammar corrected or being called a troll.

I just think that upgrading her would be weird. "Oh, you're married? You get to be matron of honor instead of just a bridesmaid."

@future - my interpretation of the situation may be incorrect, but that's how I saw it. Thank you for clarifying what the actual reason could be.

My married sister is a bridesmaid for me, no I do not feel the need to make her the matron of honor just because she's married.

No one here was rude, they just told you that no you don't "upgrade" bridesmaids just because they're married.

Also, why are you asking your bridal party so early? Your wedding isn't until 2018.

@CMC Hate that you feel that way, and I respect your opinion. However, I stand by mine.
