Bachelorette Party Ideas

LadyL, on November 1, 2011 at 4:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

Hey Ladies,

Both my MOHs and my other bridesmaids are asking what we should do for our Bachelorette Party. What are you guys doing for yours?

We're going to dinner and then to a comedy club. I'm not a big partying, clubbing kinda girl, so we thought this would be fun. If we feel up to it after the comedy club, we'll go to my favorite piano bar. Ooh it's next week (11-11), I'm so excited!

We did a passion party for a friend of mine last year at another friend's house. It was really fun, but definitely not for everyone. Smiley winking

I'm thinking we will rent a party bus (we did this for a friends bachelorette party and was so much fun) and go to our favorite comedy club. Maybe hit up a couple of bars after then have the party bus bring us home.

I told them since my family is planning a Jack n Jill not to worry about a bachelorette party or a shower. But my sister wants my MOH's phone number (heard she wants to do a dirty party for me for a bachelorette party). Who knows if they will go through with it. Its deff not my style but if there will be drinks Ill be ok. lol

My neighbor planned a bachelorette cocktail party, and a friend of mine who is a personal chef cooked the food as a wedding gift. We had about 20-25 girls there, and then a few of us went back to my place and sang karaoke and had a slumber party. It was nice because it was really fun, I got to see a lot of people, and it wasn't a huge hit on anyone's wallet. (IMO destination bachelorettes can get ridiculously pricy, and the girls can feel pressured to attend.)

Good to know you don't always need those really pricey weekend getaways to have a bachelorette party. Thanks Ladies! Keep the ideas coming. Smiley smile

Unfortunately for my girls, we are all over the country so it is destination for all of them. Currently the plan is for them all to come to NYC and stay at my apt. We will make a weekend of it. I plan to take them out for brunch one day for the "bridal luncheon" and then we will have one big a*s dance party at a club one night. My MOH also wants to do burlesque classes or pole dancing classes. Probably have a nice old school slumber party another night! (we are kicking FH out for the weekend)

However, I have taken pole dancing classes at Crunch gym, and it is a TOUGH work out... so I may suggest other wise.

FH will be going to Mardi gras for his Bach Party - but he and his BM are from New Orleans.

We didn't do anything too drunky for mine. I invited all girls in the wedding including my 2 candlelighters - 13 and 15. We took off for a weekend in Branson, MO for shopping, lunch boat cruise, the Dixie Stampede and girl time. It was a blast for us!

I'm with you Lynsie. I'm actually allergic to alcohol, so I can't drink too much. I was hoping to do something along the lines of what you did.

My girls lived all over the country, so we went to Vegas! We hung at the pool, went shopping, lots of eating, saw a show one evening (Ka) and went to a couple of clubs the next evening. I'm not a huge partier anymore, but it was fun to have one last party with my favorite girls (even if we hardly drank!).

If you're keeping it local, I think a spa day and comedy club sound really fun.

Mine's not for quite awhile still but my MOH has been hinting around about strippers and a pole dancing class. My only request to her is that she throws it well in advance so I can recover - I'm getting old so it takes me longer

Im going to Wisconsin Dells for the weekend (its a 1 1/2 drive for us) and staying at a huge water park. None of my bridesmaids are 21 so going to the bars is kinda out. Im also bringing my mom and FMIL. We'll do some of the goofy games like pin the junk on the hunk and see who can make the best penis out of play-doh.

We did everything over our wedding weekend (the bachelor/ette parties were on Friday, the wedding was on Sunday), so we could include as many people as possible.

We started off at a Mexican restaurant, complete with mariachi singer, then headed over to a bowling alley for some bowling and boozin'! We finished the night at the firepit at the lake houses we rented for the weekend, toasting marshmallows, making s'mores and drinking. It was nice and my 17-year old sister was able to come along too.

I'm not sure yet what we're going to do. We're looking into renting a house for the long weekend, and letting the bridal party stay there (some at the house, some at the venue). That way we can do something - not sure what yet. We'll see what happens.
