Anyone elses wedding band more expensive than FH? I feel guiltyyy :(

maria, on July 2, 2011 at 12:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 37

Ughh, so we went and picked out wedding bands. I don't have many choices because my e-ring has a curve in it. I found this beautiful 3/8 carrat diamond curved channel wedding band. It originally is $1199 but on sale for $599! Great deal but I feel horrible because FH band is only $99 (his is a simple titanium band-no diamonds) ... I even told him that I would get a cheaper one and he said no! But why do I feel so bad? I feel selfish ... did this happen to anyone else? Everyone keeps saying how the mens band is ALWAYS cheaper ...

**the ring isn't sized yet so that's why there's a gap

I think women's wedding bands generally cost more than mens. My husband got the same titanium band. He wouldn't wear a ring with diamonds in it.

Mine is... it's about 600$ more than FH's. We are splitting the cost of the rings together though, so he's okay with it. I get to pick them up in about an hour actually!! Smiley smile

My ring cost $25 thanks to the ladies on this site sending me to www.jvljewlers.com.

Her band cost much more than that, but whatever I wouldn't want anything too blingy anyhow.

Thats pretty normal actually unless the man wants something more elaborate theirs isnt that much. Only spent $500 on my FH. But I'm getting two diamond bands that are close to $2000

Men rings usually cost less than women. Both of our band came up to $750. I will pay around 300 for his and he is paying the rest.

Don't feel guilty! It's typical for men's rings to be less expensive. My ring actually ended up being around the same price as his, but only because I wanted plain white gold.

It's a symbol of his love to you so no you shouldn't feel guilty.... Plus it's a great price. If he paid full price my response may be a little different... but I am all about getting great deals & that deal is a smash!

My e-ring originally was priced at $1,400 he got it for $400 & used his overdraft funds to get it... I felt guilty at first when I found out. But then I thought "well he picked it out & it was his decision to get it when he did" so I don't feel guilty anymore. The wedding band he wants to get is $388 on sale too, so my set will cost quadruple his set. Both his idea, he planned it & that's what he wants to get me. The band I got him full price is $300 I bought it off a wholesaler on line for $35, brand new in box same warranty. When I got it it's exactly like the one in the store.

Like I said I am all about a bargain LOL... but no you shouldn't feel guilty.

Fh's band was $1000 more than mine! He wanted matching platinum bands and his is basically a much ticker version than mine. But I think in general the woman's band is more expensive than the mans.
