Ughh, so we went and picked out wedding bands. I don't have many choices because my e-ring has a curve in it. I found this beautiful 3/8 carrat diamond curved channel wedding band. It originally is $1199 but on sale for $599! Great deal but I feel horrible because FH band is only $99 (his is a...

Ughh, so we went and picked out wedding bands. I don't have many choices because my e-ring has a curve in it. I found this beautiful 3/8 carrat diamond curved channel wedding band. It originally is $1199 but on sale for $599! Great deal but I feel horrible because FH band is only $99 (his is a simple titanium band-no diamonds) ... I even told him that I would get a cheaper one and he said no! But why do I feel so bad? I feel selfish ... did this happen to anyone else? Everyone keeps saying how the mens band is ALWAYS cheaper ...

We decided not to get a band with my ring because I just don't like how any of them look with it.

FH's ring(s) were $37, because we bought 3 of them. We used a chinese wholesaler (same company that sells to your jeweler, not a knock off- it's jewelry) because it was the only place I could find the one he wanted in the color he wanted... So, we bought 3 different sizes to cover our butts.

My wedding band cost $300. My FH doesn't like jewlery so we picked out an $18 green lantern ring. It depends on what they are comfortable with. I felt guilty for awhile but realized that my ring is my style, his is his, and that is why there is such a large difference in price.

We got both rings from JVL for $50 total. and my ering was just over $100. We're both very minimalistic when it comes to jewelry, but when we saw the black tungsten bands in the jeweler's display we fell in love. I started bargain hunting and here we are Smiley smile

I dunno--to each their own. Personally, I'd rather save for a house, car, other necessities. The rings are important, but the price tag doesn't mean much. They'll be just as symbolic and meaningful no matter how much you pay.

Why do I not see these deals on jvl? Is this the right site http://www.jvljewelry.com/Default.asp ?

And to the actual topic- I think usually womens cost more than mens. As long as you too are ok with it that's all that matters Smiley smile

My rings are almost exactly like yours! It really was tough looking for the curved band that wasn't made for a solitaire! Anyway, my FH has expensive taste - his band was about $50 more than mine! Smiley smile (Though we both feel badly 'cause we spent more than we'd planned to... but we found the bands we fell in love with and decided we're going to have them for the rest of our lives. If there's one part of the wedding you're going to go over budget for, shouldn't it be the part you'll keep forever?) You both found the rings you love, right? If so, you're going to have them forever - don't worry that one is more than the other, just love them (almost) as much as you love each other! Smiley smile

My FH hasn't picked out a ring yet. He is very picky and the style he wants it's exactly popular. I already have my wedding band. I guess I should say bands cause I got one for each side but together they are way more expensive. I had the same problem as you but he insisted that because he knew that is what I wanted that if I didn't get it he would go back without me and buy it anyway. I too still feel a little guilty.

We actually went and ordered ours yesterday and as we were about to leave the house, I told him I budgeted mine to be between $800 and $1000 and his to be about $200- $300. He laughed and said that I owe him an upgrade in ten years. I think the girls ring is generally more expensive because it has more bling.

Mine is way more than my FH's. Mine came as a matching engagement band and wedding band. He was rather picky about his thought and his cost a little over $200.

FH's and mine were about the same... mine had diamonds, but his was a big chunk of white gold, and with gold prices up... well, we got a great deal through a friend of his boss, but it was still a load! Smiley tongue

That's how it was for ours too. His ring was $400, and mine was $700, and my band was even on sale. Mine has little diamonds on it, and his is two-tone, gold, and sterling silver w/ no diamonds or anything like that. he didn't realy care either way. he wanted something simple. He prob could have gotten something even cheaper than a $400 ring but I am paying for the bands. he paid for my engagement ring, so I'm taking care of most of the bands. He put a small downpayment down on our bands but I'm doing the rest. But yeah i think women's bands are probably more $ anyway. aside from the fact that alot of men probably prefer simpler rings as well. not all, of course, but alot.

Women's bands are usually a LOT more than the men's... mine turned out to be a lot less than FH's... but we weren't planning on that, I figured it would be the other way around! lol.. ours together were just over $700

Maria....My band was $699 originally $5499! He told me to get the one I wanted and when he picked his, Yup. Plain titanium band. I couldnt talk him into anything else, its just not his style.

We did do the JVL bands for the right hand, and i wear it on the left when its at the jewelers
