Wedding details
Brian's version: Hey, babe. Tell me how we met. "... The internet." So, I'll go into detail: We met with the help of an online dating site. Late in 2007, the electricity company I work for moved from Fort Worth to Irving - making it a good time to start looking for a house. As I was in the midst of closing, in addition to looking around to get familiar with my neighborhood, I also signed up for a new dating site. Brian was one of the first guys I made a match with and the only one I met in person. While talking via instant messenger, Brian mentioned he was hungry so we first met on a Sunday afternoon at a Mexican taqueria near his work and my new house. We ate there, went to an art supply store, a Sonic for drinks, a movie, and then came back to the taqueria to talk until it was time to call it a night. What I remember that night was how each said it felt like we'd know each other forever. We have dated ever since. Our favorite outings are garage sales, antique shops and going to Canton for First Mondays. If you let us, we'll show you all our finds. Brian has moved on to restoring pinball machines and I have begun researching both our families geneologies. We adopted Gretta, a german shepherd/lab mix, in July of 2009 and Libby, my cat, and her occasionally get along. Most of our time has been devoted to hanging out with our pets, our families and friends. In December of 2009, both of our mothers silently began hoping for engagement news. To their dismay, Brian waited until early March of this year to ask me if I'd like to help pick out the ring. Having my heart set on one similar to my mothers, one with more emphasis on the band than the stones, I jumped at the opportunity. We made a Saturday of it and ended up finding one at the end of the day. We got officially engaged while at a stoplight at Josey Rd and Keller Springs Drive. :-). Chalk it up to a couple that talks about the future always... makes for a more practical engagement.
