Any one thinking of not doing a white wedding dress?

justine, on May 10, 2012 at 4:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 45

Has any one thought of doing this? I like the idea of doing a really light pink and doing my bridesmaids dresses in a light grey color?!

HONEST OPINIONS PLEASE. if you went to a wedding and she was wearing pink what would you think? i think it may look to much like a grad dress (prom dress for all the american ladies)

I loooove the pink dresses.. DB had a Vera Wang dress that was pink and I would probably have fallen for it if I had dared to try it on Smiley winking

I used to want to get married in a purple dress, but when push came to shove, I ended up wanting something more traditional. I think Jeni on here is getting married in a gorgeous purple gown, and I think it's awesome! A pink like in that picture is still light enough to not cause a big ruckus if you have a more traditional crowd, I think.

FH? haha umm he is very traditional so i could see him having a problem, but i think if it made me happy and it was "the dress" he wouldnt care if i came down in a hot pink tutu.

jen p ~ im googling this DB dress, edmonton JUST got a DB so that would be extremely exciting.

aaannnnddd Reenski~ i think because it is so light it wouldnt cause a huge ruckus, but i think a purple dress would have been amazing! but i get what you are saying about the tradition part!

I ended up loving a "non-traditional" dress. I say do what makes you happy!

Here's the model....I have pics of me in the dress, but it doesn't fit and looks frumpy on me! I'm getting it back from second alteration a week from today! =)

Yup, Reenski is right. I'm doing purple and having my bridal party in white. I LOVE the pink dress you chose, and since it is a light enough color, I also don't think it is too far from tradition. I say go for it! Here is a pic of mine. As you can see, I think whatever suits you is awesome!

Do what you want and it will be great! If someone shows up to your wedding and judge you because of your dress then they shouldn't be invited... its a day of celebration. Also did you know where the white wedding dress originated from? Check it out maybe you won't feel the social pressures to wear white... Mine is casual and not all white...

I love that wedding dress! I was in love with a pink dress for years but it came with a 10k price tag so we parted ways =). I'm far to pale for white so I went the champagne route.

Mine is gold, it's a pretty traditional dress, but I loved the "gold spun" color much more than white or ivory.

I just am not blessed with tanned skin, and no matter what i wont be tanned, unless i do a spray tan, which i do once a month so im used to them. but pink or ivory is much better with my white white skin!

also im loving all the purple ladies!
