We did traditional escort cards and then individual place cards at each setting. WW has a great seating chart tool so you can use that to help you to map things out before you need to start writing out the cards.

Doing a DIY escort card. Card stock and my printer...a little glue, and some fall leaf embellishments. =)

Escort cards for us probably. I would love to DIY some sort of fancy vintage looking window pane with balsa flowers hanging from it, but our wedding is OOT and I can't go filling my FIL's basement with any more crap. Smiley smile

We have kicked around the idea of using mini cupcakes as escort cards and sticking little flags in them that say the name and table #. They could double as favors. But we're already serving cake and having a dessert table, so I don't know if that would be redundant. Smiley smile

Another idea we had is to write each guest a brief note and tuck it into a small envelope that says their name and table #. The note would say something we value about them and thank them for coming, etc. I love the idea but thought it could be sort of weird for our friends' S/Os who might not know us well.

We also thought about printing up a bunch of old family or baby photos, folding them into tents, and writing people's names on them.

    Still thinking on this one.

I brought some placard paper from Michaels and will print from my computer at home. On the front of the card, the names will be printed in different colors (my wedding colors) to determine meal preference (ex. blue name = Salmon dinner, chocolate name = grilled chicken dinner, silver name = Vegetarian dinner). On the back of the card will be the table name that they will be seated at. I will place the cards in alphabetical order on a table right outside the reception hall. I will have the table names sitting on the table for people to see and my usher/hostess will be able to point them in the direction of their table.

I am doing escort cards I bought cute holders of a bride and groom entwined. my placecards where cheap from vistaprint $20.00 and the holders could also be a keepsake. I am debating on putting a label on the bottom of them with our names and date. they werent to expensive. 73 for $80 of them. It matches our cake topper

I did a poster similar to Honey B, unfortunately no one took a picture of it! It was pretty easy - I used PowerPoint b/c I suck at MS Word, but I imagine it can be done in just about any program.

It didn't cost me anything to print (my company has an in-house print shop), but I'm sure it would've been under $10 at a Kinko's. I printed it 18x24, bought a $6 poster frame from Hobby Lobby (50% off frame sale!), and voila! Easy peasy.

We bought ring pops in bulk from sams club and a paper cutter in the. Shape of a luggage tag and used a hole puncher and ribbon to attached it to the ring pop then wrote the names on the luggage tag.... for people to find their table we bought a 3 sides cardboard display from hobby lobby because the have ones with different colored backgrounds and decorated it with our engagment photos. We used the luggage tag punch again with ribbon and will hang them from the board with T pins.

@Cydney and other brides who printed escort cards - What paper did you use? Where did you get the design? Did you use a laser/photo printer?

I bought a collage frame from Michael's on sale fr $14. It has 20 places to put 4x6 cards both horizontal and vertical. I am going to print out the table assignments on card stock. Any openings that I won't fill with assignments (we aren't having 20 tables) I am going to put in black and white photos of FH and I.

Thanks Ladies! Here's the link if anyone wants to tackle another DIY project. It looks super easy and Martha provides a full template.

I'm still searching for the perfect vintage "looking" paper to use but I will post photos once they are completed.
