60% chance of rain on my wedding day!!! :-(

Mrs., on October 15, 2010 at 2:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

That is what the forecast says so far. Last night when I checked it was only 20% :-( And of course the day before and after are forecasted to be sunny! :-p We have a backup plan with the venue to set up the ceremony inside. People would sit at their assigned reception tables and we'd make an aisle down the middle. Pics would have to be inside so no nice outside pics :-( Pray to the rain gods for me ladies please!!!

Weather dudes are almost ALWAYS wrong. Especially more than about 5 days out, lots could change. Have a backup plan, but don't freak!

It will be ok! It's still a week away and the weather always changes by a day, so it will probably rain before or after your wedding. Smiley smile Don't stress!! I bet you the forecast will change when it's closer to the day!

Well if it makes you feel any better, there was a 70% chance on my wedding day and it didn't rain at all!! It was windy and a bit chilly, but the rain held off, and I live in Buffalo where it's either raining or snowing at all times!! lol

Analy is right. The weather men aren't always right. Just make sure to have a back up plan. Either way, your wedding will be fabulous!

I thought rain was good luck for fertility in the marriage, and maybe when it is done raining, you may have a rainbow on your wedding day!

    Oh Taco belle *heart*

yes rain is good luck but definitely an inconvenience. Great to have a back up plan but it usually doesn't rain ALL day so there could still be a chance to get outside pics.

I actually wanted it to rain on our wedding day :/ I'll keep my fingers crossed that it goes away before your ceremony.

Weather forecasts more than 24 hours in advance are about as reliable as throwing the bones. Don't stress--if it does end up raining, you have a plan, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change the weather. But it's entirely possible that it won't rain anyway.

Wow I blinked and had all these responses! Thank you ladies! It can rain but only after the ceremony ;-) I'd prefer to get some nice outdoor pics and have the ceremony outdoors if possible. FH is not bothered about the rain at all cause he believes it is good luck too. Definitely inconvenient though!

It has rain for every wedding I have shot, except one. Before that bums you out, let me finish!

One wedding is poured the entire morning. The ceremony was scheduled to be outdoors on the beach and the bride was getting nervous, as they had no backup plan. When it came time for the ceremony, the rain stopped. Oddly enough, it started to rain again once the outdoor portion of the day was through.

Another wedding, it was grey and rainy. The bride spent the entire morning staring out the window. By the time the afternoon came, there was more sun (and heat!) than you could imagine.

What I am trying to say is don't let it get to you. Even if there is 100% chance (as there was for each of these weddings), it doesn't mean that it will have any impact on your day at all.
