Wendy was phenomenal to work with and we couldn’t be more pleased with how the pictures turned out! Several years ago she captured my sister and brother-in-law's wedding, and I loved how the photos turned out and remembered how easy she was to work with. Once we started planning our wedding we reached out to see if she was available for our wedding date and willing to travel. That was one of the easiest booking processes we had during our entire wedding planning process even with her being from out of state.
On the day of the wedding, she handled the timeline smoothing, made sure to capture all the portraits efficiently and as least stressful as possible even with a large family and wedding party. She asked people’s names and relations when she first got there, and she remembered all of the wedding party names and who was who. Both my husband and I are shy and not used to being the center of attention, she put us at ease during our engagement photoshoot in buffalo and day of the wedding during the portrait timeframe.
She also captured genuine moments / candids that are full of emotion and authenticity, and we couldn’t have asked for more beautiful images. Her ability to blend into the background while still capturing every special moment was impressive. Although it was not something we requested, we got photos of all guests that were at the wedding, and so happy to have these memories captured.
If you’re looking for a photographer who is efficient, talented, and able to capture the true essence of your day, Wendy is the perfect choice. We're so thankful for the stunning photos and the memories she helped preserve for us.

Amazing Experience, Talented Photographer

These words may not be able to truly express the amazing experience we had working with Wendy as our wedding photographer. Wendy is talented, detailed, kind, and just a pleasure to have with you on your special day. We decided to contact Wendy because her work matched the photo style we love, and based on the recommendation of a friend. We felt her photos were relaxed, natural, and organic, and they seemed to capture true emotions. We chose Wendy because of this and how easy she was to talk to during our initial call. She captured every moment of our day, and you can feel the love and joy that was there when looking at her photos. Even though Wendy did not miss a single detail, she was never obtrusive. She somehow captured everything while quietly blending in the background. She also helped everyone to be more relaxed. Our photos are more beautiful than we ever imagined they could be. Best Vendor We Picked

Wendy photographed our wedding in November 2019, and from the beginning we were more than happy with our decision. Not only was she able to flex our date after signing the contract due to a forced date change, but the communication throughout the whole process was quick and helpful. We did engagement photos, which we used for our Save the Dates. There were many places we came up with as location options and Wendy helped us narrow them down to the best ones that we could reasonably accomplish during the session and capture the essence of the cityscape we wanted. She was also willing to change plans mid shoot to move to a nearby area to catch the sunset instead of a planned location. We met with her once more before the wedding to review the plan, and after that everything was in her hands! The day of our wedding, she captured every moment flawlessly and discretely - both my husband and I commented when we were looking back at our prints that neither of us had even noticed her moving around with such stealth! Our photos are absolutely beautiful; they don't look heavily filtered and capture the true, 'real' people and places. Our day was unexpectedly chilly, but you would never have known it with how willing she was to visit all of our desired outdoor locations. She also remembered every thing we asked her to get, which was great to not have to think about it ourselves that day! Lastly, we booked a videographer separately, with whom Wendy worked wonderfully and professionally, and respected his needs during the whole day. I already can't wait to have more big life moments to bring Wendy in to capture for us.
10/10 would recommend every time!

Amazing photographer

Wendy was absolutely wonderful. She was sweet, professional and genuine. Although Wendy is already booked for our wedding day, it was a pleasure to have her shoot our engagement photos. Wendy took away any nervousness that we had and captured our true selves. The photos were nothing short of perfect. I would definitely recommend her, and would love to work with her again!

Beyond our wildest dreams!

When my husband and I got engaged we both sat down and figured out our top #1 most important thing! My #1 was photography and his was food/alcohol. So he did our research and through a friend we found Wendy. We sat down with Wendy and were beyond impressed with her as a person and then the quality of her work was unreal! We did an engagement session with her and were blown away. But honestly nothing and I mean NOTHING can properly express my gratitude for what Wendy did for me on the day of our wedding. She was with me in the morning keeping me calm capturing moments I didn’t know happened. Even though we were late to the church she made sure I got a “first touch” with my husband and a friend praying over us. She did the work of 4 photographers somehow and captured angles we didn’t know one person could get! I get choked up writing this because Wendy was such an integral part of our wedding in a way that no other photographer could be. She remembered every single groomsmen and bridesmaids name which was such a feat because there were 16 of them. She was impeccable as a human being and as a photographer. My husband and I now refer to her as family! And we would never do photography with another person! We just drove home from Cleveland Ohio to get a couple Christmas photos which we could’ve easily done in this area but refuse to let anyone else take our photo. But that’s the clientele that Wendy elicits! I promise you you’ll go back and you’ll find ways to go back. She’s just that damn good!

"We would friends in real life." She is the BEST!

I knew I wanted to hire Wendy based on her previous work. She did not disappoint. I live in Missouri so we communicated entirely by email. She was prompt & easy to reach when I had questions or needed to comfirm something. When Wendy showed up at the hotel for the wedding it was like we were old friends. She was easy going & cool. When it came time for family photos & wedding party photos, she took charge & it was clear she had done many weddings. She fit in with my friends perfectly.

When it came to getting the photos, she was just as easy to reach. When I missed the time to use the website to have my parents order, I emailed her and she was willing to put them back up on the site. Again, I never waited for than a half a day for an answer to any of my questions.

Professional and flexible

With no script to work from, and in a small space (60 people on a yacht), Wendy took beautiful candids of the guests, the dancing, families and the happy couple. She is the ultimate professional, and I highly recommend her photography service!

Our best decision!

Wendy was recommended by a friend, and she did not disappoint! From our first meeting with her we knew she was the one to photograph one of the best days of our lives! She first did our engagement photos which were absolutely beautiful, and then our wedding which took our breath away! There wasn’t a moment that she missed, and this was done with no “official list” of what I wanted. Wendy is very kind, funny, and easy going. I’m not big on having my pictures taken, but she always made me feel comfortable. Wendy was without a doubt the right choice!

Fantastic wedding photographer!

Wendy did an absolutely phenomenal job with our wedding photos! She took the time to meet with us prior to our wedding to discuss what we wanted and she was able to showcase her expertise to make our pictures amazing! Wendy was so fantastic throughout our wedding journey! It began with our engagement session at Knox farm in the middle of February (we wanted snow). It was cold, but she managed to get some amazing shots!. The day of our wedding Wendy was so helpful and flexible, and patient when our wedding party got a little distracted. Her photos are simply beautiful, and she really takes time to make the experience personal. Everyone in the wedding party loved her!

I'm a little bit late in posting this but Wendy was the photographer for my wedding in January 2017. From start to finish she was really wonderful. After meeting with her just once my husband and I knew she would be a good fit and we didn't interview any other photographers.
The day of the wedding she was on time and dressed professionally. She was willing to go the extra step for us to get the shots we wanted...to the extent of even bearing the cold, snowy January weather to get some photos outside. The guests loved her too, she mingled well and everyone could tell she really loves her work. I have since mentioned to many people that there isn't one photo that she took that I didn't like. She was really able to capture the essence and emotions of the day.
I can't express how happy I am that Wendy was our wedding photographer. I definitely recommend her and would hire her again in an instant!

Before I even met Wendy I knew I loved her attention to detail, and her uncanny ability to capture emotion. Any wedding photographer can stage a beautiful photo, and dress it up with a bunch of cool effects and fancy software... if that's what you're looking for, cool! But to me there's something special about the ones who can truly capture all the raw energy and excitement of such an emotional day through their natural candids (and still make everyone look good in the process! Because we've all seen poorly timed candids, and nobody wants to look like a hot mess on their wedding day!) Maybe part of this is because she'd had a chance to get to know us and our personalities through our engagement session (hint: SIGN UP for the engagement session!)... but I think a bigger part of it comes from true passion for what she does. She treated us through the whole process- from booking, to the day of the wedding, to hand delivering our album (and staying to chat for over an hour) as though we were the only wedding on her schedule for the whole year. You can tell talking to her that she loves what she does, and you can FEEL it in her photos.

As others have mentioned, her personality brought an aura of calm to what could have been a crazy day, and I experienced both moments where I forgot she was even there while she snuck the most beautiful pictures in the background, and moments where just having her there helped settle my nerves, keep me on schedule, and remind me to enjoy every moment of the day. Wendy "got" me. She was my kind of person. And I can't wait to share her pictures with my grandchildren someday.

Booking Wendy was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. We set up a bunch of meetings with photographers to see who would be the best fit,. Just based on pictures from websites and blogs, Wendy was our top choice going in. When we met for our initial meeting it was like sitting down to catch up with an old friend. When she left, I turned to my husband and said "Oh man, I would totally hang out with her. She's awesome." And that was pretty much it, we knew we'd found the right fit.

We booked an engagement shoot before our wedding. My husband is not the biggest fan of having his picture taken and being the center of attention makes him uncomfortable, so we definitely wanted to practice for the wedding. At the engagement session, Wendy made Matt feel at ease. We're not the most affectionate couple in front of other people, so we were definitely one of those couples who needed direction as far as what to do, but Wendy never made us feel bad about that. The whole process made both of us feel great. And of course we were blown away by the pictures we received.

The day of the wedding, Wendy was a breath of fresh air. She was on top of the schedule and gently pointed me in the direction I needed to go in throughout the day, which was very helpful and appreciated. She was present and personable without being overt and in people's faces like some photographers can be. Wendy was great about the little things that were important, and was super patient when my nieces and nephew were just NOT having it with the pictures. We received so many compliments, not just about her work but regarding Wendy as a person. Everyone loved her, and so did we.

Wendy is an exceptional photographer and an absolute joy to work with. She is worth every single penny.

During our wedding planning process, my now husband and I had no prior experience in hiring a photographer. After Wendy photographed our engagement session in August 2014 and wedding in September 2015, she has certainly set our baseline expectations. Wendy's photography style is classic, yet candid and incredibly stunning. During our wedding ceremony and reception, I barely remember seeing Wendy, which amazes me considering the amount of candid photos she was able to capture. In addition, her laidback and zen disposition is extremely calming on a day of complete organized chaos. Wendy felt like a member of the family at our wedding that just happened to also be capturing every moment of our big day.

Despite Wendy's very busy schedule (we booked her over a year and a half in advance), she responds quickly and thoroughly to all emails and concerns. Considering all of these elements, the value of her high-quality services is very reasonable. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a professional and equally talented wedding photographer in the Buffalo-Niagara region. I'm convinced that come Christmas, my family and I will still be pouring over our beautiful wedding photos and raving about her extreme talent. I can not say enough good things about Wendy! She is fantastic! She is very professional, responsive, polite and FUN! I learned about her though a coworker that used Wendy for her wedding. I loved my co workers' pictures and album and knew I had to book her. She fills up quick and well in advance, which is a sign of an excellent photographer. Wendy put together a timeline for my wedding way back when we initially started planning that I stuck to the day of the wedding. She knows what she is doing and keeps everyone on track. Wendy was so patience with everyone and didn't get annoyed by some of our craziness! She was courteous to the parents and grand parents and made sure everyone was happy. Wendy gave us a couple sneak peaks of our pictures immediately after the wedding on her facebook page and had a blog up with 30 photos within three days of the wedding. We hired Wendy to shoot our wedding at The Foundry in Buffalo in June based on the recommendations of several friends who have used her. Wendy started with "first look" photos in the afternoon, then formals with our wedding party, then family photos, ceremony, and reception. I really cannot say enough about her. It was a hectic day (aren't all weddings?) and she was the consummate professional throughout it all. She had great suggestions for locations and poses, and she just melted into the background. It was really important to me to have a photographer who isn't obtrusive - I think it's incredibly rude when the guests can't see the ceremony because the photographer is in the way. Wendy made a point of making herself invisible, but she didn't miss a single shot. Even when my aunt, who is a self-styled photographer, showed up and insisted that she would take our photos, even going so far as to nudge Wendy out of the way, Wendy handled it like a pro. She also worked with our other vendors (videographer, DJ, site coordinator, etc) to make sure that she was in the right place at the right time and everything ran smoothly.
We got a few photos on her blog within days of the wedding, and the entire set (450+ photos!!) within a MONTH. Her turnaround times are unheard of. Her photos were gorgeous: she really captured the little moments beautifully. The only difficult part of working with Wendy is you won't be able to choose which photos to put in your album, you'll want to use every one. Her prices are also extremely reasonable, and she was willing to work with us to give us everything we wanted and nothing we didn't. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. She's a dream to work with and worth every penny. You can't do better than Wendy Mitchell Photography.

Wendy was absolutely amazing and we could not have asked for a better person to capture our special day. Everything went so smoothly and she makes you feel so at ease throughout the entire process. We had chosen Wendy because she photographed my friend's wedding a few years previous and did a great job. Since we live out of state from where we had our wedding, we met via video chat which was very helpful. She knows what works well and captured all the little moments that made our day so special.

I found Wendy through weddingwire and fell in love with her work so we decided to book her for our wedding. And what can I say, she did an amazing job with our pictures! It was like she wasnt even there that day and still she made sure all the pics we wanted were taken and she brought in so many ideas. We fell in love with the pics we already got to see. A lot of family and friends tell me it looks like out of a movie. And we were even told by friends that attended several weddings before that she was the best photographer they have worked with so far.
Everything was easy and smooth with Wendy even though we were never able to meet her in person to talk things over before our wedding and had to do that through Skype.
Thank you so much Wendy! You are so talented and helped making our day perfect and having the best pictures to remember every part of it!

We can't say enough good things about Wendy Mitchell. We had Wendy photograph our engagement session, as well as our wedding. The photos from both sessions turned out absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier! Wendy is super friendly and responsive. We never had an issue with her returning calls or emails. Brides - Look no further! Wendy Mitchell Photography is the easiest and best decision you will make for your wedding. We knew we wanted Wendy from the moment we first laid eyes on her work. She was the first and only photographer we met with as we knew we didn't need to look any further.

The first time we met her, we quickly learned that she was just as great of a person as her photos were breathtaking. Some vendors require a lot of oversight and a lot of management. Wendy was on the other end of this spectrum. I knew with her I could give her an idea of what I was looking for and she would run with it. Not only would she run with it, but also it turned out even better than what I had envisioned.

Wedding planning is stressful. Wedding day coordination is stressful. Wendy removed all of that in all areas that she could, even outside of photography. Our venue coordinator was horrible (to say the least) and Wendy stepped right in. She also did an excellent job working hand in hand with our videographer. The way they worked together, you would have thought they had been working together for years. Our guests commented how great she was the entire day of the wedding. They loved her fun, easygoing nature, and you would have thought she was a friend of ours thy way she fit right in. Our guests couldn't wait to see the photos, and when they did, they fell in love all over again.... just like my husband and I did.

Although your wedding day goes by so fast after so much planning, the product that Wendy provided us will allow us to forever relive the best day of our life and the beginning of our Happily Ever After through her talented eye and perfect lens. We can't thank Wendy enough.

There is so much I could say about Wendy and all of it is great. After falling in love with her work it was an easy choice to pick her for our wedding. Sure, I could have spent less, or gotten a package from some combo company with a photobooth or fancy lights. Attend a single wedding show and you will go home with at least 20 cards from photographers. BUT when it comes to the most important moment in your life that you want to remember, the last thing you want is a blurry picture or stale shot that makes you grimace. I wanted to see my photos and feel only joy at the great day we had. Wendy did that for us. She was quick to respond to all my questions, made sure to get all the shots I wanted, and provided a full set of photos in high resolution so I could print them. We also have an online gallery to share with friends and family. I have received so many complements on my photos and her style at the wedding. She was never in the way or rude to people to get a shot. It was like having a great friend take your photos. She knew where to be and when, but had fun while doing it. Anybody can buy a camera but it takes a true eye for beauty to be a great photographer and she certainly has it down.

I could not recommend anyone else. If you want the best, you want Wendy. Plain and simple. But do book early as she is so fantastic that she books up rather quickly.

I can't say enough great things about Wendy! She is an amazing, talented photographer and is so easy to work with . She knows exactly what she is doing, is professional and so much fun! I didn't have to stress for one minute on that day. She was flexible, really listened and paid attention to our vision for the day. She was able to get images that were important to us as well as the ones she knew would be priceless, even despite my husband disliking pictures! We loved working with Wendy. We are from out of town, and we also weren't quite sure of our wedding picture locations until the last minute, but Wendy was very flexible and easy to work with the entire time. She had great ideas for photo locations, but also was open to all of our ideas as well. We didn't want photographs that looked too posed or cheesy, and we didn't even have to tell her that-- all of our pictures were so natural. She was great to have around during the wedding day as well. She always happened to be in right place at the right time, and she was never intrusive. We are so happy we chose her as our photographer and would recommend her to others in an instant.

Wendy was AMAZING start to finish!! All people do is comment on how beautiful our pictures are and ask us who took them! We actually have friends who just got engaged and instantly wanted her information. We had a very large wedding party and by the time we took group pictures she had memorize everyone's name!! This helped not only in ease of picture taking, but in the comfort of our friends!! Our parents were also very pleased with how attentive Wendy was and made sure everyone had all the pictures they wanted!

Wendy was pleasure to work with. When we first contacted her, we weren't sure of our wedding date but knew we wanted to book her. She was flexible and presented us with different options to make sure we would have her when we knew the date for sure. She was very responsive and professional leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding, she was very easy (and fun!) to work with and got every shot we asked her to get. After the wedding we remembered that we hadn't asked her to shots of a couple random things that we wanted but when we got our pictures we realized that she had gotten them anyway. Most importantly, the pictures were fabulous!

Wendy was absolutely amazing. From the beginning she was very professional and also flexible with our Wednesday date. My husband and I are very camera shy, but she gave us just enough direction to make us feel comfortable and was so friendly that she put us right at ease. The pictures she took were absolutely incredible. She made us both look our best and then some. And as if that wasn't enough, she made us thank-you cookies that went with our theme. We feel like she was worth double what we paid--she's that good!

Wendy is the best! She's photographed both my daughter's weddings, a niece and I also referred her to a friend for her daughter's wedding. We've all been thrilled with the pictures. I had another niece who wanted to have Wendy photograph her wedding but alas she was booked on that day. We call her the wedding ninja. She gets these amazing shots and half the time you don't even know she was there! She captures the beauty of the settings and the joy and emotion of the day perfectly.

We were SOOOO happy we found Wendy as our photographer. She captured all of the joy and happiness of our wedding day in the photos - when you look through the pictures, you really see it all again! Wendy is extremely talented, friendly and professional. She spent an hour and a half with me (on Skype - I'm from out of town) to talk to me about what I was looking for. Wendy was so fun and great to work with. She learned everyone's name in our bridal party. In our meeting she listened to what we wanted and on our wedding day she took all the pictures perfectly. I could not have asked for better wedding photos. They came out amazing! Wendy is the best! Someone I work with who came to my wedding wanted her for her wedding.. We found Wendy by doing an online search of one of our possible reception venues. She actually shot the wedding that we walked through when doing one of our first tours. She was the first vendor we booked after we confirmed our date, and the first and only photographer that we had a meeting with. We are SO happy we went with Wendy!

She took our engagement pictures for us and somehow made a dreary, windy and chilly day look amazing as our backdrop! She even emailed me that night as she was reviewing the pictures with an amazing preview pic! We are so pleased with the engagement pictures and the guest book that she put together with them.

The pictures from our wedding day are outstanding. We can't imagine having shared our day with anyone else! Her energy, professionalism and humor were exactly what we were hoping to share with a photographer. We got to see so many pictures from her blog post so quickly which was so awesome!

I found Wendy by accident. We were still looking for a wedding venue, and I was getting creative in my search for "Chautauqua Lake weddings" when I stumbled upon engagement photos Wendy had taken for a couple along the shore of the lake. I immediately fell in love with her pictures and sent her a contact email that very day. We hired her for our engagement photo session, our rehearsal dinner, and our wedding!

Wendy Mitchell blew us away with the photos from all three events. I am SOOOOOO HAPPY we picked Wendy as our photographer. She is beyond talented. Her pictures went way beyond just capturing visual snapshots....her eye and the way she captures photos makes you able to FEEL the event -- the weather, the mood, the light, the emotion...she is somehow able to capture it all in her pictures. Years from now I will be able to look back at the year I got married and truly remember exactly what that exciting and emotional and joyous time felt like because Wendy's pictures captured it so well. And that's just her photos.

Wendy is phenomenal to work with. She is organized, yet very laid back. She is not intrusive in any way, yet she is able to capture all of the little details of the event. She made even our most camera-shy guests feel comfortable. She was AWESOME about getting every single picture on my "checklist" even though I know she really likes to be more spontaneous than that. Wendy ran around town the day of our wedding from location to location to location -- she kept to the schedule and captured every group, setting, sight, person and event that I asked for. She was timely in getting our blog up and getting our album and discs to us. Heck -- she had emailed me a few "sneak peek" pictures within a few hours of our events!!!

Wendy was amazing from start to finish! I came across her name on wedding wire, myself, soon after my husband and I were engaged over two years ago. I quickly set up a meeting to ensure I could have her photograph our wedding. She was great with keeping in touch and touching base with me a few weeks before our wedding to comfirm timelines, etc. She is the nicest, most down to earth person, and was so easy to open right up to the day of for the best pictures. My now husband HATES getting his picture taken and took to Wendy right away and did not complain once the entire time. She seemed to fit right in with our fun, non-traditional bridal party and made us all feel comfortable while getting all the right shots! She even made some difficult family members pose for pictures and smile that I didn't think was possible! Our blog on her website was up even quicker than she initially told us and the few pictures she placed on there were amazing and received overwhelming feedback from our family and friends. The way she can capture a moment or a look is unlike no other. I cannot wait to see the rest of our pictures and highly highly recommend Wendy to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

My wife and I hired Wendy Mitchell based off of positive recommendations we had read on the internet and a very positive meet-and-greet we had with her on discussing how our wedding photography could be planned out. Wendy did a fantastic job in helping us with the planning process, and was very familiar with both the church and the reception venue. We were amazed at how well she worked with us, the wedding party, the church, and the people in charge at the reception venue to make sure everything was going smoothly. She was very much a calming force on the wedding day, especially at times when I was most stressed! The end results were nothing short of phenomenal, and we proudly display our wedding pictures to all our friends and family.

She was also very responsive to any picture requests we had, whether they be formal or fun shots on the fly, as well as providing great suggestions. Wendy was also very prompt at getting the pictures up online for viewing, as well as printing our wedding book, not to mention she has very reasonable prices. I also want to state that we planned our wedding form out-of-state, and Wendy made the process very easy for us. Wendy was the most perfect choice to photograph our wedding. Photography was the most important aspect to me for the wedding. I went through tons of photographer's websites before we even got engaged to see portfolios and examples. Wendy really impressed me not only because her style was simply elegant without tacky tasteless poses or an overuse of Photoshop effects, but because she post photos from every wedding she shoots on her blog. I was able to get a real feel for her and when we first met, she brought lots of examples for us to see. We got a package that included LOTS for a very reasonable price. Our engagement session was a lot of fun and Wendy spent more time with us than we anticipated, and the pictures were gorgeous. She had the photos ready for us very quickly. Wendy was very easy to contact leading up to the wedding, and we could tell she really was excited for our day, too. I don't think our wedding day would have been as fun if we hadn't hired Wendy. She has a great personality and is very outgoing. She talked with our guests, and it truly felt like we had one of our best friends as our photographer. She was never in the way and never obstructed guest's views. We also hired Mary Beth Flatau to photograph the groom before the wedding, and to be there during the ceremony. She was also great, and got some awesome shots we wouldn't normally had gotten. Wendy got a lot of our photos online within a week, which was awesome because we got to see them during our honeymoon. They are FAR better than most wedding photography I've seen in the area, and for a much better price. I've seen a lot of friends get fooled into thinking they can spend a very small amount and get quality photos, or spend wayyy too much on photos that are too photoshopped. Wendy was worth every cent we spent, and we made a great friend out of her, too!

I could not be happier with my choice for wedding photographer. Wendy was professional but also made us feel so comfortable. Our pictures turned out fabulous. Three days after the wedding she had a blog up so I could see a taste of my pictures, she also had my book and discs to me less than a month after the wedding! My husband and I are so happy we chose Wendy as our photographer for our May 4, 2013 wedding. She is exactly what we were looking for. She is funny, easy going, flexible and did everything I asked for, plus lots more. She photographed our engagement session, my bridal shower and our wedding. Wendy Mitchell was a fabulous photographer for our wedding. She was, by far, one of the best wedding decisions that we made! There was an engagement session included in our photography package, but I live out of town, so I only had a one-week window to get the session done when I was visiting. She was completely willing to work with us to get the session done, even though it was Christmastime, and then she managed to produce FABULOUS pictures, even though it ended up being a gross, cold, rainy day. I knew if she could turn that day into beautiful pictures, that I had nothing to worry about for my wedding. Our wedding pictures also turned out very well. Wendy had fun, creative ideas for pictures, she brought a prop that we really liked, and she made all of our bridal party and family feel comfortable. Everyone was raving about Wendy afterward. She managed to get the best candid pictures...she was everywhere and didn't miss a beat. She captured every moment that I wanted to hold onto. One of the best things about Wendy is all the wedding experience that she brings to the table. She has seen it all, and it was very helpful to have her around. She had great advice and perspective! Of course, Wendy's products are also amazing. She created a beautiful wedding reception guest book for us that I treasure almost as much as my wedding album. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend Wendy as a wedding photographer for couples getting married in the Western New York area. You will not regret your decision!!!

Wendy was the first and only photographer I contacted and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to hire her on the spot. She was very friendlly and easy to work with throughout the whole day. She went with the follow of the day to capture the most beautiful pictures. My friends and family couldn't believe the photos in our "sneak peak" and were left wanting to see more. Wendy was wonderful to work with and the pictures we've seen so far are amazing. Wendy was everything and more that we wished for from a photographer on our wedding day! Even though the weather didn't cooperate, she captured many outdoor pictures for us as requested, and got many nice indoor photos at the ceremony. The reception shots are so candid and catch everyone's true craziness and emotions! She is down to earth, no-pressure, and makes you feel at ease. She is more than a vendor, she became our friend for the day and we look forward to working with her again for future family photos. Each time we look at our wedding photos on the wall and in our albums, we are grateful for Wendy!

Wendy did an amazing job with our wedding photos! She always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to capture all of the special moments of the day. Wendy posted a few sample photos in her blog just a couple days after the wedding so that we could enjoy the pictures while we were on our honeymoon. When our photo album came in, we were thrilled with the way all of the photos turned out. We highly recommend Wendy to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Wendy was absolutely AMAZING. She managed to be everywhere, and I hardly even noticed. I haven't gotten the full gallery yet (after all, it's only been three days, and she took a ton of pictures) but she put up the blog post with just a taste of what's to come, and I'm so excited to see the rest of them. And on top of all of it, her prices are extremely reasonable. HIGHLY recommended.

I can not recommend Wendy Mitchell more highly. When we were first looking at reception venues and photographers were were surprised at the lack of customer service from many vendors. We met with Wendy and she sat with us for two hours and answered all of our wedding planning questions. She was the first person to get us really excited about what our wedding day would feel like. After our meeting we canceled our appointments with other photographers and booked her. She was extremely flexible to work with, and allowed us to swap the engagement session included in our package for rehearsal dinner photography. It was wonderful having her at our rehearsal. Everyone got to know her, and it is nice to have pictures of everyone in a more relaxed setting. On our wedding day Wendy came to take pictures of the bridal party getting ready, and it was so nice having her be a part of our day. All of the other girls were running around doing last minute primping, and Wendy was the person calming me down and telling me I looked beautiful before we left for the church. We took pictures on the Buffalo waterfront, and they are absolutely amazing. I didn’t feel like we were rearranging into different poses for hours, yet Wendy got a great range of formal shots. She also really captured what it felt like to be at the reception, but with good lighting and from flattering angles. She quickly figured out who the really important people were, and she got lots of pictures of our close friends and family at the cocktail hour and dancing. She also managed to get pictures of everyone who was at our wedding, the food, the flowers, and other wedding details. Immediately after the wedding one of my bridesmaids booked Wendy to shoot her son's baptism, and another friend tried to get out of their contract with another photographer to use Wendy for their wedding.

If you are just starting to plan you are probably not thinking of these kinds of things (I wasn’t) but these are things that became really important on our wedding day and after:
1. Wendy is a really nice person to be around. She put people at ease and sensed what pictures were really important to us and when we were exhausted and sick of taking formal shots. Your photographer will be at your side for your whole wedding day. Make sure it is someone you want to share your day with.
2. Wendy posts a sneak peek of your wedding day really quickly (like within 12 hours) on her blog. This was so much fun! It was amazing to wake up the day after our wedding and get to immediately see the highlights. I could have never anticipated how important that would have been to me, but seeing the pictures right away was a wedding highlight. We were sitting in the airport on our way to our honeymoon and seeing pictures go up on Wendy's blog and Facebook page.
3. A few weeks after our wedding we got an unexpected beautifully wrapped package at our door, and it was an album Wendy put together for us. Our wedding was nautical themed, and she even made a custom "sail away" box for the CDs of pictures. After all of the wedding excitement is over, and gifts have stopped arriving at your door this will mean a lot to you.

Wendy did a fabulous job with our wedding photography. She was available on short notice and was more than accomodating. She met us for coffee prior to our wedding to discuss details of our day and provided the absolute best service. Her shots are unique and tasteful and she is fun to work with. My family uses Wendy Mitchell Photography for so many of our important events. Her pictures are always amazing. I brag about her to everyone I know.

Actually that back-fired because she was booked for MY wedding date :)

Thankfully, she was able to shoot my brother's wedding and my sister's wedding. She did a newborn shoot when my son was born. She has also done newborn shoots for 2 of my nieces.

One of my favorite things about Wendy is that she is so great about getting good candids so you don't have to waste a ton of time posing, although she does great posed pics too.Plus she is pretty stealthy - she can zip in to get some memorable moments, without you even knowing she is there.

Wendy handles things quickly and efficiently. She's easy to get in touch with. She charges a reasonable amount. She provides web access to her pictures and her web site is easy to navigate. She is truly gifted and very passionate about her work!

We love that she is an even mix of personable and professional. She is fun and easy to talk to about your vision for your pics. She has a lot of great ideas and listens to yours as well. We have had less than favorable experiences with other photographers - so working with Wendy is an absolute dream!

Wendy was awesome!!! You should hire her, plain and simple.

To elaborate....
She is very easy to talk to, you want to be her friend after your first phone consultation. It is very obvious that she is genuinely loves what she does. She wants to get to know you, your story, and your esthetic. I think I talked more about myself and my husband than I did about prices and contracts!!

That said, however, she is definitely a "divulger". She tells you everything you need to know upfront. You won't be surprised by any extra costs, anything that she won't do or anything that can't be done.

My photos (I haven't even seen ALL of them yet but felt the need to write a review ASAP) were incredible. She really captured the emotions of every moment; I don't think she missed a thing!

The day of our wedding, she was energetic, but in a go-with-the-flow kind of way. I was amazed at the fact that she genuinely looked like she was having as much fun as my guests!!

I planned my wedding from Florida and she was easily reached by phone or email and always replied quickly. I've already had friends down here asking if she travels!!!

You'll surely get the most bang for your buck by hiring Wendy. She promises and she delivers.

Wendy is extremely easy-going, creative, responsible, and fun...really everything you want and need your wedding photographer to be. When I was looking for a wedding photographer I knew I wanted a more modern look similar to photojournalism. At first I couldn't find anyone in my price range with the look I wanted, until I found Wendy's website. After our first meeting I knew she would be perfect! She has excellent attention to detail and caught every moment of our wedding perfectly. I also couldn't believe when my photos arrived EARLY, in a beautifully done album along with copies of EVERY photo she took that day. I was more than pleased! Wendy was there throughout the night and continued to be in the midst of all the action- At the end of the night she was sure to check with us to make sure there were no other pictures we wanted before she ended for the night. When we received our pictures, we were thrilled with the quality of the work in the pictures she had taken of us and for us--and it was even more wonderful to see pictures of things going on behind the scenes- the candid moments that we bought disposable cameras to capture- Wendy got them all. She exceeded our expectations. The only recommendation I have for you when booking her is to book early as her schedule fills up quickly.

One thing I was sure of when planning my wedding was that I want amazing pictures that I could look back on for years to come. I had been in a wedding a few years prior that Wendy had shot, after seeing the pictures that she had taken it was the easiest choice choosing Wendy to shoot our wedding. She is extremely flexible, we had a super large wedding party and was able to capture all the amazing moments that we missed during all the hustle of the day. As a person Wendy has a amazing personality and is a lot of fun to be around which is nice for a very nervous bride...she is so very flexible in her shooting ability that you most of the time never even knew she was shooting! I would HIGHLY recommend Wendy to any bride looking to capture all the amazing events on their special day!!!! She also does AMAZING newborn picture :)

The easiest part of planning our wedding was working with Wendy. I would recommend Wendy Mitchell Photography to anyone who is looking for a great photographer. Many friends of mine have used Wendy' Mitchell Photography for their weddings, big and small. They all had wonderful things to say and their pictures were beautiful. When we first met, she provided her portfolio and she built our package around what we wanted. She was willing to meet with us on more than one occasion if we wanted her to and she was always very quick in replying to emails or returning phone calls. Any questions or concerns, changes etc. Wendy worked with us through them all guiding us when we needed ideas for specific pictures, time frames etc. Wendy is very professional and personable. Her quality of work is the highest. Our wedding day went by so fast, the last thing we wanted was to forget to get pictures with family, friends etc. She was there when we were getting ready and took pictures of all the little details, getting dressed, the ceremony and reception decorations before the wedding as well which was great! While searching for a wedding photographer, I fell in love with the pictures of my friend's wedding, which were done by Wendy. After meeting with her, I knew that she was the perfect photographer for the job. She was so personable and easy to talk with. She was very flexible and her prices were very reasonable.
Wendy was very good about keeping in contact with us up until the wedding and making sure we were all on the same page. The day of the wedding, Wendy made us all feel very comfortable. She was very flexible and calm, especially with the crazy weather! She left the decision of taking pictures outside up to us, and was ready to do whatever! (which i loved).
She captured so many moments at the reception, I can't believe it! Every time something was happening, she was right there on the dance floor!
The album that she made is so beautiful. It was more than i expected! And she also gave us little cards with the website for the online gallery to put in our thank you cards-great idea!
I highly recommend Wendy Mitchell for weddings and other photography sessions. She is great!!

For starters, Wendy is such a sweetheart, and you can tell she loves her job. She's very friendly, while still being very professional, which made for just the perfect photographer for our wedding! She was on time and had her act together, she answered her phone/voicemail/email very promptly too, which I highly appreciated. And on top of all that, her photography is gorgeous! Our wedding was 5 days ago and she already posted quite a few "sneak peak" pictures up on her blog. I was so amazed (along with everyone else I showed) as to the quality and creativity. Although we initially thought the prices for our wedding photography were quite high, we were excited and more than happy to receive prints of not some, but all of the photos Wendy took at our wedding. Her professionalism on the day was unparalleled. She got to know both my husband and myself in addition to the attendants and immediate family, and yet was unobtrusive in taking photographs. When we received our prints, we thought, 'How did she get that shot?' on more than one occasion. Most importantly, her photos were beautiful and a style completely her own. We were SOOOO happy with Wendy! We found her through a recommendation from a family member who had actually gone to a wedding as a guest that Wendy had taken pictures at and who was so impressed, they asked the bride to pass on Wendy's information to us when we got engaged! We liked her and her down-to-earth personality immediately and were completely won over by her amazing style of pictures. We thought the price was extremely fair. We couldn't believe we had so much "take-home" stuff from her, while other friends who paid much more for their photographers had only an album with 20 or so pics to show for it. We would recommend her to anyone planning a wedding in the Western NY region and would be willing to speak to anyone who had any questions. I first came to know Wendy Mitchell Photography through my best friend's wedding. Wendy was very personable, friendly, and flexible at her wedding. Then I saw her pictures. Wendy has the ability to take the most amazing pictures, yet be unseen and leaving you to wonder "How did she take that, I didn't even see her there." I got her card from my friend and saved it until I got engaged.

Wendy was the first phone call I made after I got engaged. I didn't even set the date until I knew the date we had planned was available for her. When I contacted her, she remembered me from my best friend's wedding, which was two years earlier. When we set up an appointment to interview her and to see her portfolio, the thing that sold me the most was that she had a story for every picture--she remembered certain stories and events that happened at each wedding she worked. Not many professionals I know actually pay attention enough to remember every wedding they have been involved with.

Having Wendy do the photography at my wedding was like having one of my best friends taking the pictures. Her easy going, friendly personality put everyone at ease and it felt like she was part of the family. She talked with everyone, remembered everyone's names, and by the end of the night knew who belonged to who in the family. She took some posed pictures, she took a lot of candids, and she even obliged when other people asked to get pictures taken. She captured every aspect of the wedding--the church, the guests, the food, the little moments that would have been forgotten had they not been captured on film. I told her only a few pictures I wanted her to take, but other than that, I trusted her completely and she exceeded my expectations.

The quality that I recieved my photos in exceeded my expectations and was worth the wait. (I only waited a month for EVERY single picture she took, with doubles. She gave me a time frame of when I should expect them and I recieved them in that time frame).
I am so glad that I went with Wendy Mitchell Photography. I have had so many people compliment me on my pictures, and my one friend said that she regrets not having her at her wedding.

Her prices are amazing. For the price I paid (less than 2k), I recieved over 1100 pictures (I requested doubles), a CD, and the negatives. She doesn't do albums, but you recieve your pictures in an album that is so nice, I'm not even changing them to a different one. I know for a fact that my one friend paid more than 2k for her photographer, and didn't even get half of what I did. The quality and quantity you get for the price just doesn't compare.

Many people say they have their wedding photo album in a box and it's been in the closet since a year after they got married. I will not only keep these photos out, but I will treasure them and look at them often.

Wendy was flexible, professional and took BEAUTIFUL pictures. She made changes at our request before and after the wedding. We were so happy with her and have since recommended her to several friends. The pictures are wonderful and VREY affordable. On a day that seems to go by in a blur, Wendy captured it beautifully!

Wendy was awesome from the day we booked her right through to the day we got our album. We had initially attempted to book a different photographer through a friend-of-family connection, but when that photographer was 20 minutes late to a meeting that she set up, we decided we'd look for someone else. Wendy photographed my brother's wedding in 2006, and after looking at the album he received, my fiancee and I were set on booking her. Wendy was extremely professional and responsive. The week before the wedding, she drove out to the church just to make sure she would find it okay and to know how long it would take her to get there. Not to mention that her pictures are awesome! Our album is full of awesome memories. Wendy does an incredible job of finding really outstanding, unique shots, in addition to the classic posed pictures.

We were married 2 years ago and had one of those nightmare wedding days that everyone fears - including crutches, a broken zipper on the wedding gown, an evil maid of honor, etc. But there was Wendy - very caring and still was able to get some amazing shots. I think she even had tears in her eyes for us at one point! She offered to do a reshoot for us to get some shots that were not possible on our "big day" (i.e. wedding gown fixed, tux re-rented, etc. so that we did have some shots as they were meant to be). We know that she was booked solid (the month of June) but still took time out to do the reshoot for us.

Wendy is the most talented photographer we have ever met and just a fabulous person. EVERYONE involved with our wedding thought she was amazing and her work is absolutely stunning. We have referred her many times without any hesitation. We even tried to book her for a 50th anniversary party (she was having her baby). Even though she was not available, she gave 2 names of photographers for us to contact as well as background info - we ended up not having a photographer at all b/c we could not have her but, again, her generosity and caring nature was amazing - going above and beyond for us a second time!

We cannot say enough about how wonderful, professional, and caring Wendy is and her work is unmatched by anyone. We highly, highly, highly recommend Wendy for any photography needs!

Choosing Wendy for our photographer was one of the best wedding decisions we made! Wendy felt like an old friend taking beautiful photographs of our wedding. She made everyone feel at ease. Our photos were fantastic and I cannot believe how many wonderful photographs we have! She made sure to get all the little details without being intrusive.

We recommend Wendy to all of our friends. My best friend just had Wendy as her wedding photographer and the photographs are amazing!

We saw Wendy in action at a mutual friend's wedding back in May of 2005. I rarely saw her throughout the ceremony or reception and wondered what kind of photographer she was. Then I saw my friend's pictures - - absolutely stunning. I could not believe that Wendy got the pictures she did by herself, no assistants, without me EVER seeing her. I was convinced that she was magic and immediately booked her for our wedding, almost 2 years in advance. I would have actually changed my wedding date if she was not available.

Wendy is very easy to communicate with - - I am an email girl - - and she always responded quickly. We met with her in person to discuss what we wanted and never felt pressured to get more than that. We paid THOUSANDS LESS than several of our friends for far SUPERIOR wedding pictures. She is absolutely amazing. She stayed late the day of our wedding and took posed shots that we wanted, but everything else was done in a photojournalistic manner, which is what we loved about her in the first place. Looking at my wedding pictures made me feel like I could take a step back and see what other people saw - - she is excellent at capturing the "feel" of very special moments. My husband and I also loved that we got an entire album of every shot that she took and then we were able to order multiple shots, enlarged, black and white, etc, for ourselves and other people. I personally loved the parent albums she put together for us.

We recommend her to all of our friends and have had the pleasure of seeing her at another friend's wedding. Everyone that I know has complimented our wedding pictures several times over. It's like having your very own People magazine edition of YOU. My husband and I found every aspect of Wendy's photography outstanding. That is why we couldn't think of anyone better to photograph our first child, born May 30th of this year. There is no one else I would trust to capture the beautiful images she did of my then one week old son. Her work is amazing - - see for yourself!

Wendy is definitely my photographer for life. I recommend her highly without hesitation.

We booked Wendy for our wedding in May '08. She was AWESOME!!! Finding a great photographer was one of the most important decisions that we made for my wedding, and we feel that we made the right choice! We got married in Auburn, NY and planned the whole thing from Atlanta,GA. So, communication skills were a MUST! She was very professional throughout all of our correspondence and was very flexible and helpful.

On our wedding day, everyone at our wedding said that she was great to work with & we agree! She was never in the way, never pushy, and had great suggestions for photos. I also agree with other reviewers that she did a tremendous amount of work for one person. (I've seen photographers with entourages of assistants whose work doesn't hold a candle to hers!)

When we got our pictures, we were amazed! You can tell that she has a great eye, because when you look at our photos, you totally see how our day was. She captured how FUN it was & you can really see our family and friend's personalities. We are STILL bragging about our photos today! 5 stars all the way!
