I am not a jeweler. I don't know much about jewelry. That was my mistake. I came in to have a stone set in a ring. After they set it, I told them that I was very unhappy with the height of the stone. They proceeded to make me feel like a complete idiot because I did not know that stones are made to sit that high and thats how its supposed to be. They set all their stones that way. They laughed and smiled and said it was a miss communication on both our parts. I am not blessed with a abundance of money. I spent what I could on the ring and stone. I work very hard to give the best I can to the person I love. Even if it's not the greatest in the world, it's the absolute best I can do. They went on to make me feel utterly insignificant. In a very condescending tone, they said they could lower it the way I want, but I have to pay for the labor again. I expressed that if I would have known to ask for that or if the jeweler would have asked my preference, I would have told them the way I wanted it. I am embarrassed and crushed that I let someone I care for so deeply, down. If you have ever asked the one true love of your life to be your wife, you know how stressful it can be and how you want desperately to have everything perfect for her because she deserves nothing less! This jeweler only cares about his reputation and money. I will give my girlfriend the perfect ring, she deserves it. I now just have to find a jeweler that cares and that won't mind walking me through the process to make sure I get what I envisioned. I am defeated, humiliated and very angry.
