The best we could have hoped for!

Jay was the perfect photographer for us! We really appreciated his professionalism, while keeping a relaxed vibe and helping us feel stress-free in general as well as in front of the cameras. We love how both the engagement session and wedding photos turned out, and we'll be able to cherish those memories forever. His relaxed and friendly style really helped to make us comfortable in front of the camera and the results show it. So easy to work with and GREAT photos for outdoor events!

Initially, we picked Jay from a list of preferred vendors because out of all the photographer's portfolios, his had amazing outdoor lighting, and our wedding was outside at a barn/vineyard. After having worked with him, there are SO many more reasons we would recommend Jay!! We are both semi-awkward picture takers, and somehow he captured about 1000 amazing shots of my husband and I in a very natural, fun and easy-going setting during our engagement shoot. The wedding day pics came out beautifully too, with so much color and natural light to them. Jay is also very prompt to respond during the planning process, and even helped us set up our day-of timeline, which was a huge help. 10/10 would recommend!

Wow! Jay took our engagement and wedding photos and we LOVE them!!! He was so easy to work with and really took his time to stage great shots, as well as taking candid photos. He makes you feel comfortable even though being in front of the camera isn't something my husband or I are used to. We are so happy we chose Jay to capture our special day!! I would HIGHLY recommend him!

When you're planning your special day, you've got a slew of tasks on your list. What I found most helpful is if you have vendors that are easy to talk to, supportive, and fun! I knew that I wanted to invest in a great photographer because these are memories captured FOREVER.

After many failed meetings with photographers here in San Diego, I looked around online. With the help of a friend we found Jay! He photographed one of the weddings in San Diego that my friend knew about. After my husband and I met Jay via Google chat we already knew he was "the one." He had this relaxed and professional attitude. He probably won "Best All Around" in a high school standout or something. He was easy to reach, responded to emails/text messages promptly, quick turn around with contracts, and very responsible. This eases every brides' mind.

The packages: He had amazing packages that were reasonably priced, offers "credits" which you can put towards side items you want to customize the package (canvas, album, engagement session, etc). Jay was willing to work with us due to some circumstances we faced during the planning, for example the photo-booth.

Overall: There was such a great vibe during the engagement session and the wedding, nothing but smiles and laughs. Everything was so natural and not forced. His wife Caitlin and him are super sweet individuals and together make an amazing team. It's evident they love their profession and genuinely want to make the bride and groom happy with their work. The quality of their photos are on point and have great light balance. I loved every photo! Their price matched the quality of their photos, if not even better. I can't be any more thankful that I was given the opportunity to have met such great people capture our wedding because now I've gained two more great friends. They even went to the Charger game the following day and earned us a win!

Jay is amazing! After looking through vendors on multiple sites I found Photography by Jay C Winter. Not only did he get back to me almost immediately but he was very easy to work with. We also used Jay for our engagement pictures, even with short notice and a time limit for that day (my husband had to leave town) Jay was able to capture some of the best moments. I am not the most photogenic but I was proud of the photos we received. Our wedding day was another repeat of Jay being awesome. Our pictures turned out gorgeous and he captured some very memorable moments. As friends get engaged I always mention Jay because of how awesome our experience was.

One sign of you having a great wedding photographer is when numerous family and friends keep telling you how much they love the wedding photos for weeks and months after the wedding day. Jay provided us with hundreds of beautiful images that we will have forever.

From our first interaction with Jay, he was extremely helpful and responsive as he walked us through everything regarding wedding photography even before any contracts were signed. Picking wedding vendors can be extremely stressful and intimidating so Jay was great with explaining the entire process, what we should be looking for, how the big day goes, pros and cons of various things that we had never thought of, etc.

Jay always answered phone calls, texts & emails extremely timely and over the course of the year leading up our date he kept us informed when he left the country so we wouldn’t think he left us high and dry. Not like you need to talk to your vendors weekly, it was just a nice touch.

Day of: Jay and Caitlin did great, they captured all the elements of the wedding so beautifully from the getting ready details, venue, family & friends, ceremony, reception and the big party afterwards. The process of getting all the shots before, during, after with family and the bridal party went extremely smooth, we knew we were in great hands with Jay leading the show.

The DVD with our pictures showed up within 6 weeks just like Jay said.

Very happy clients, extremely happy wife.

Jay took our engagement and wedding pictures and I am beyond happy with both sets of photographs. I have to admit, I am pretty picky when it comes to photography. Anyone can pick up a camera and take a picture but it takes a true artist to capture how something feels. When I look back at my wedding pictures, I feel the indescribable love and joy I felt on that day.

When planning my wedding, I knew that I didn't want pictures consuming the day and Jay worked with me to ensure that it didn't. I never felt rushed or stressed about getting pictures done. It all happened very naturally because Jay was calmly organized without being controlling. I have heard stories of photographers who stress out the bride on their big day and this was not my experience whatsoever!

I can confidently say that Jay will give you pictures you will cherish forever!

In addition to capturing our engagement photos, Jay recently photographed our wedding at Spanish Oaks Ranch in Santa Margarita. We couldn't be happier in having worked with Jay. From our initial meeting, all the way through to receiving our pictures, the process couldn't have gone more smoothly.

Jay, as well as his lovely wife Caitlin, have a unique ability to be both professional and friend in capturing some of the most important moments of your life. They are able to make you feel relaxed and at ease, while still providing enough direction to ensure amazing photographs. Jay's personable approach and professional processes from beginning to end made all the difference in the world. Jay is just the best photographer that we could've ever imagined or hoped for our wedding and engagement shoot. My husband and I were nervous our first time taking professional photos for our engagement session, and Jay made us feel completely comfortable and actually encouraged us to be ourselves and made the experience so much fun. We were happy to find a photographer that wasn't going to turn everything into a "glamour shot" or an unnatural set of poses. Every shot we received from our engagement session looked phenomenal (I think he has a magic lens) and our families were floored by the results, as were we. On the wedding day, he and his assistant Caitlin were just amazing to work with, especially when everything was moving so fast and my attention was being pulled in every direction, they were just so calm and went with the flow. My husband loved working with Jay as well, and we chose him because he was cool, fun, not pushy and really listened and felt more like an awesome friend than a vendor. I would recommend Jay to every couple -- I have already told him (although he may have thought I was joking) that he is now and will always be our photographer (if he'd have us). He is the photographer that you'll want to capture every significant moment in your life. We can't thank him enough for capturing this time in our lives in such a beautiful way. You're the best, Jay!

Every once in awhile, you come across a professional who creates something absolutely beautiful while making it seem effortless. That's how Jay Winter does photography. My wife and I asked Jay to shoot our wedding this past August, and leading up to the day, we really just wanted a few picture to remember the day. We didn't want to spend hours shooting photos while our family and friends were waiting--we wanted to see the people we cared about! Jay was extremely professional, knowing exactly how to position us and our families to get the pictures he wanted. Looking back, I can't believe how little time it took him to get a lot of unique and amazing shots.

And not only was Jay fantastic in his time management, but we never felt ordered around or herded in any way. Jay is a fun, caring, funny, and very calm guy, and my wife and I had a blast as Jay guided us around our venue to shoot. Before we knew it, we were done with pictures, and off to enjoy the party.

That was all we'd asked Jay to shoot, but little did we know, he didn't stop there. Jay went above and beyond what we expected, catching all the beautiful intricacies of our wedding without us even knowing it. When Jay sent us the photos, we were amazed at how many moments we'd forgotten or missed, that he'd caught on camera. And since, we've been able to share those memories with many family and friends.

We were truly blessed to have Jay as our photographer. My wife and I have said multiple times since the wedding, how lucky we were to have had Jay shoot one of the most important days of our lives. And to any couples searching for a wedding photographer, we hope you're able to have Jay join capture your wedding day and enjoy the experience as much as we did.

Ill start off by saying that my mother is a photographer and I spent my whole life in front of a camera, so I feel as though I know what a professional looks and acts like. Jay and Caitlin proved above and beyond my expectations on our special day. The way Jay and Caitlin were able to shuffle the 16 people in the wedding party along with family and friends proved tome that they can handle any situation thrown at them as well as making sure that we got all the poses and pics we asked for.

My wife Jenny has known Jay since she was a little girl and was already comfortable with Jay. I on the other hand, had never met Jay before our wedding, as we live in Washington State, making it more difficult to meet before hand. Within a minute of meeting both of them I couldn't have felt any more comfortable, like we had known each other for years. This made the already best day of my life even better, because as Jenny put earlier, the dedication and professionalism helped to keep our day on time and on schedule.

We receive our photos well within the time frame that was described to us when we hired Jay. I would/will recommend Jay C. Winter Photography to anyone looking for a great photographer at a very affordable price and in the end I love our photos and want to Thank Jay and Caitlin for all they did and our wonderful memories that we know have.

Travis and I couldn't be happier with the way Jay and Caitlin captured our day. I have been lucky enough to know Jay as a friend, so I had seen other weddings Jay had photographed, and had no doubt I wanted him to be my photographer. Beyond their professionalism they were fun and truly made everyone in the wedding feel cared for on our special day. Some highlights:

-He helped us stay on schedule and together we created a timeline before the day to get an understanding of what we wanted to have photographed.

-The turnaround time for us to see our photos was exceptional. Jay had a sneak peak of our wedding up on Facebook within days of our special day. We had a hard copy of the photos within six weeks as promised by Jay. My sister already wants him to take her family photos, because she was so impressed with his skills.

-The packages he offers are the best we have seen and so generous for the product you get.

-Lastly, your photographs are tangible item you get to take away from your wedding day. The day really does go by so fast and looking back at our photos makes me have tears in my eyes of the memories we created that day. Thankfully we have amazing photos from Jay that we will cherish forever.

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jay and Caitlin. We used their services for our engagement and wedding day photos, and our family cannot get enough! The photos are beautiful and really capture how we felt during such huge moments in our lives. We were always so well taken care of throughout the entire wedding planning process, which was a huge help for this slightly OCD bride. My husband and I were so relaxed on our wedding day (which I did not think was possible!) because we knew that the photos would be incredible.

My husband and I hired Jay to take our wedding pictures this past April 2013. After seeing Jay's work and hearing from couples about their amazing pictures and overall experience with Jay, we were beyond excited to work with him! On our wedding day, Jay and Caitlin had the entire wedding party commenting on their professionalism, charm, amazing ability to capture moments and their overall creativity and ability to be flexible while still taking charge. We had friends saying they had never seen such amazing photography and a few that already plan to use Jay for their own events. The photographs we received from both the engagement shoot and wedding were stunning. He captured the feel and special moments throughout the day, the scenery, the Jewish ceremony and the details that made our wedding unique. We were amazed at how beautiful they were. Choosing Jay as our wedding day photographer was one of the best decisions we made!! We are so very happy with our pictures and he was so great to work with on the wedding day. Not only that, but he was very quick in getting our photo disks mailed to us.

You definitely want to have someone who makes you feel at ease, on your wedding day, and Jay and his wife certainly did this for us! I also loved that Jay was resourceful and creative. Our wedding was in January so the weather was all over the place.. from rain, to blue skies, to a really thick fog right after the wedding. The weather made me nervous, but Jay is such a pro, he was able to make all of these weather patterns work to our advantage. People keep telling me how our misty, foggy photos are some of the coolest pictures they've ever seen... that sure does take a true artist to pull that off.

My husband and I recommend Jay 100%. People say getting a great photographer is a priority for the wedding, and I agree, and I'm so glad we worked with Jay!

I was the happiest bride in the world this past weekend, and Jay and his wife/assistant played a HUGE part in that! My extended family was fortunate enough to celebrate 4 weddings this past year, and the vote was unanimous that Jay was the best photographer of the year! Jay worked with my new husband and I on every aspect of photo planning leading up to the wedding, and was a key player in setting us at ease and making the photo-shoot go off without a hitch! He was flexible, knowledgeable, and fun! With a list of photos we knew we wanted ahead of time, Jay quickly got everyone on board and organized to take amazing shots that were unique and beautiful. There was nothing cheesy, cliche, or "fake" about the poses he put us in, and he even had us do some "fun" shots that turned out amazing! From start to finish, Jay was a professional above all else, and a pleasure to work with!

Finding Jay as our photographer was serendipitous. I wasn't having much success finding a photographer, and was ranting to my girlfriend about it. She had recently been a BM in a wedding and said the bride's photographer was awesome and asked if I wanted his info. I was already jaded with my search and said "sure...send info my way."

Long story short, Jay had us at "Hello". Loved his website, his pricing was reasonable and all we had left was to interview him on the phone to see if he was a "fit". Any bride who's planning her own wedding knows it's important you click with your vendors! My husband and I did a quick phone call and knew INSTANTLY Jay was our photographer!

He did an amazing job with our engagement photos (vintage photos @ the San Jose train station & golf course where we fell in love with the sport) and just recently got our wedding photos and they're gorgeous.

What we love about Jay? EVERYTHING. He's super responsive, flexible (we had some late night calls because we work late and Jay was always accommodating with our weird schedules), easy to work with, willing to work with your budget, gave good direction for photos and entertained any "ideas" you might have for your photos, which he actually encourages :). One of our FAVORITE vendors by far. WE LOVE Jay!!

Everything that you would want in a photographer, you have here with Jay Winter!! He excided all my expectations, and as a Bide... YOU HAVE MILLIONS! Jay took the job with confidence and there was never a moment that he lacked! For example, I had this vision for my engagement photos, he totally understood what I wanted and made it happen! He knew right then in that meeting where to have the pictures taken and took us to the perfect location! Me and my now husband, felt so comfortable with Jay and his assistant it was like we were friends! ;) Now fast forward to the wedding day! There too, Jay is able to fill the shoes of a great photographer. Now having the finished product, all those precious moments were captured and I am a truly satisfied bride. My dad was so eager to take a look at the pictures. I was the first of his girls to get married, so he was dying to see those moments we had that were so special. These were his words when viewing them for the first time, "He really captured all the moments perfectly as I remember,” as he teared up again. All of this to say, Jay captures the emotion, the atmosphere, and the beauty of the day you will never forget!!
