She was professional, calm, really listened to what we wanted, and was so helpful throughout the day and night-- she even helped tie the bow on my wedding dress when we couldn't get it right!! Regina Sent on 09/02/2014My husband and I hit the JACKPOT with Geneve Hoffman. I cannot say enough good things about our photos (exquisite, unique, arresting) and our interactions with Geneve and her studio. Our experience could not have been better. We planned our wedding from afar, meeting Geneve once in person and communicating via email and phone for the rest of our wedding preparations. Geneve was so organized, interested and clear about the information she needed from us -- while also genuinely caring about our vision and the kind of day (and experience) we wanted to create for ourselves and our guests. She is also so calm and grounded and she brought such positivity to the day. I'll never forget seeing her smiling face as I was getting ready, quietly staging and photographing my dress and my grandmother's pearls while sweetly conversing with my Mom and my bridesmaids; she made everyone feel special. One memory that will forever be etched in my mind was Geneve wrangling our nieces and nephews, ring bearers and flower girls, for group shops. These kids were NOT interested in having photos taken and could not stand still. After asking if any child had any food allergies, she revealed a package of peanut m&m's in her pocket -- and had our shots in no time! Brilliant! Geneve covered the elements we had discussed in advance (group shots, formals, aesthetic elements) but then captured photos we could have never imagined. She got moments unfolding; she got personalities; she was SO THERE. With the help of her photo assistant, she maneuvered my veil to catch the June breeze, lifting the entire sheath of lace from the earth as we stood in a field of green. Needless to say: it is a framer (one of many!). Her ability to be in the moment and float gracefully amongst guests is the mark of a truly talented photographer. If you get Geneve Hoffman to photograph your wedding you are in such gifted hands! -

Leslie Sent on 08/30/2012I had been in a few weddings prior to my own wedding, that Geneve had been the photographer. I loved her laid back style and ability to catch tender sweet momments that you had no clue she was even there to capture. She has an amazing artistic eye and is flexible in what you are looking for your photos.

Sarah Sent on 03/30/2010We were referred to Geneve through a friend that hired her as their photographer for their wedding. We saw their pictures and fell in love with them. Throughout the whole planning process she was beyond helpful in everyway possible. She was prompt getting back to us and extremely knowledgeable in her profession as well as weddings in general. She made the day so incredibly easy for us. Not only was she an incredible photographer, she's handy! My husband stepped on the back of my dress during the reception and ripped my bustle and without even a thought, she took one look at my dress and with some type of wedding magic, fixed it! You couldn't even tell the bustle had been ripped. Incredible photographer, extremely professional, and a complete joy to work with. My husband and I are trying to have a baby now and when it's time to have our newborns pictures done, I wouldn't call ANYONE but her! If you want an exerienced, professional, top of the line photographer at an affordable price, you'd be crazy not to hire Genenve Hoffman. -

User1787657 Sent on 08/30/2014We chose Geneve Hoffman as our photographer for our wedding, and we ended up pleased with the final result. You're going to end up with great pictures; however, if you are one who is really into simple, unposed, and candid shots, she may not be the photographer for you. The members of our wedding party and some of our guests felt uncomfortable around her and found her to be very intrusive (going through groomsmen's belongings, misplacing things, etc). She's a photographer with a vision, and is determined to get the perfect shot. We love our pictures, but her style did bring some unwanted awkwardness and uneasiness to our wedding.Geneve Hoffman Photography's reply:
Hello and thank you so much for the taking the time to review--we are so glad you are pleased with the photos.
I wanted to respond a little by describing our style...this may help future couples who might be reading this.
We are a lifestyle photography studio, and not a photojournalist studio. Photojournalists do not intervene at all in any shots--but a lifestyle photographer (like myself) has a natural way of designing your details and portraits in order to make an unforgettable story of your day. We do like to intervene/style/design here and there (each wedding is different—some weddings more than others) to make sure you will have the photos of your dreams—it’s a give and take between us and the clients that usually works out really well. But 85% of the day is very hands off and winging it and of course working very hard to just capture things as they happen naturally.
Having said all that…we are truly sorry if your day was not 100% what you expected—the blame lays on us for not communicating clearly our style and approach. Most of our clients really enjoy having us around on their day…and we are sorry that was not the case on yours. We are just ourselves at weddings…professional, fun, sincere, human, honest. We enjoy our careers, weddings, and clients--and that comes through at every level.
Thanks again for the review and we’ll work harder and harder to meet and exceed all expectations.
