My husband and I got married this past October and somehow I'm only now writing this review. (Blame it on the holidays!)

We wanted a wedding that was fun for our guests and that looked amazing. Both of us have been to weddings with that huge gap in the middle where the bridal party is taking photos for four hours and the guests have nothing to do. We didn't want that, but we also really value photography and wanted beautiful pictures around the city.

Anni immediately jumped in and helped us plan a first look (which ended up being one of my favorite memories of the day!) and asked us a series of questions to figure out our ideal picture locations and how long they would take.

On the day of, she was wonderful: stepping in when she needed to direct something, but mostly a fly on the wall or making people laugh and feel at ease to snap candids.

We are so blown away by our resulting photos. They're artistic, definitely not your run of the mill say cheese pics. We actually look good in them, too, which is saying a lot since my husband HATES the camera. I have to stop myself from looking at them ten times a day because I feel like they bring me right back to the wedding day.

Anni was extremely professional and responsive from the get go. She set herself apart by taking the time to find out exactly what we were looking for and she was able to help us iron out every wrinkle in the timeline and our dream for our wedding well in advance so that on the day of, everything ran smoothly.

It was so nice to have someone on our side, who we didn't have to stress about at all. On the wedding day she was prompt, friendly, and unobtrusive while still making sure we got the best photos possible.

Maybe my favorite thing about our experience was how excited she was about our wedding. We got married in the country, and she went above and beyond finding the best locations for photos and coming up with artistic ideas even though it was off the beaten path.

We've gotten so many compliments on our photos already! We're only having trouble figuring out what to do with all our favorites because there are so many.

You want a wedding photographer who gets you as a couple and makes those special and quirky parts of you beautiful to other people. This is Anni to a T. From the moment we first met her for coffee, we were taken aback at how laid-back and unobtrusive she was for a wedding vendor (c'mon- we all know how pushy the wedding business can be). Anni quickly broadcasted that she was not there to make us into anything we weren't or fit us into her mold of what a good couple is supposed to look like in pictures. Instead, she just let us talk and she began the relationship of getting to know what we represent. After we took our engagement pictures we thought about how natural it felt- no weird poses, no putting our hands or heads in contorted poses, she simply told us to walk, stand, or talk to each other in most instances. Anni drew out our natural traits and captured them pristinely- people commented how much we just looked like ourselves, but better.

Anni's strong traits are abundant, but the best ones we can describe is how thoughtful and compassionate she was to work with. Anni took pictures like it was her passion, not her job, and she invites her "subjects" to help create in this masterpiece every step of the way. She comes alive outside, so if you are people that envision your event in the great outdoors, this is a perfect match for Anni. She can make strangers marvel at your wedding pictures because she makes all aspects of the environment come alive and look majestic (not just the people!). She is very interested in connecting with her clients so share your passions with her and she will effortlessly make them a theme in all your shots.

A general rule of thumb we learned throughout the wedding process is your inevitably feel trapped or suckered into the expensive intricacies that go into throwing the most expensive "party" of your lifetime . However, from start to finish we felt like Anni's involvement in the process was a rare gift- hands down, book her now!

How can I even begin to tell you about Anni? She's absolutely amazing. We were looking for a photographer that fit our style (vintage, photojournalistic) and would work with our budget.

After tons of googling and emailing, I found Anni. She responded right away and was immediately warm and friendly. Initially, I was just looking for someone to do our engagement session since we were getting married in St. Louis. However, after the amazing job she did on our engagement session, we knew we had to have her for the wedding!

Being so busy planning the wedding and beginning nursing school, we had a little trouble nailing down a date for our engagement session and she was completely flexible and lovely about all the changed dates! When we finally settled on a date, it was amazing! We were so comfortable around her that it wasn't weird at all to be the focus of her camera for a couple of hours. When we saw them up on her blog, we were blown away! They were exactly what we wanted. She took all the shots we wanted and then so much more! Whether you have an idea of shots or not, she'll know what to do!

By the time our wedding rolled around, we were so comfortable with Anni that photography wasn't even a worry on our checklist! We knew it would be perfect! She travelled down to St. Louis and was super flexible about where we wanted to have our first look and getting ready shots, etc. She melted into the background and dealt with my crazy family with grace (unlike me...)!

We got our pictures back a week ago and they were everything we wanted and more! Beautiful! So many perfect pictures that we each have a couple dozen favorites!

Anni was professional, sweet, and amazing throughout the whole process. She made one of the hardest parts of wedding planning painless! The ONLY thing I would change about the experience is that we would have had the budget to have her there longer on the day of the wedding! Totally worth it! We love Anni!

Anni did our wedding, and unfortunately, I have to write her a bad review. Our engagement photos were fine, but it was clear that she herself did not even like our wedding enough to put the $2,000 worth of money that we paid to her. I wish we could receive some type of refund. Here is a short list of our the issues.
    1. Did not help us stage any photos. We wanted a more photo-journalistic feel to our wedding photos, but we do not do this for a living. Whenever we were like "does this look ok?" she immediately said yes, but judging by what we received, they did not.

    2. In regards to "staging," I expect a photographer to move things out of the background that are displeasing to look at. For example, in the photo of me walking down the aisle, there is a large coat rack behind me. If she didn't catch this before, that's fine, but I expect her to take the time to photoshop it out.

    3. Focus and lighting. Several photos were ruined because the lighting was off. For example, in one photo, there is a giant orb above our heads. Again, this could have been corrected with photoshop, or because she had a digital camera, she could have looked at it and decided to re-take the photo. Also, in most photos, you can't make out our faces because they were taken too far away.

    4. Timeliness. Our wedding was in September. I didn't even get to see the photos online until the first week in November. This would have been fine, I understand people are busy, but I then discovered that she had edited several other weddings that came after ours first. Unprofessional. We didn't receive copies of our photos until December 17. I was told that this was because they were lost in the mail, that is fine, but we weren't told that they were even ready to ship until the week of November.

    5. Lack of pride in her work. It was clear in the lack of editing and how long it took us to get the photos that she did not like our wedding or the photos she took.
