Colin was absolutely incredible! We had a very long wedding day, around 15 hours, and he was present for every part of it, with a smile and jokes, even offering very affordable pricing for such an extensive event. From the very beginning, he was personable, responsive, and always available whenever we had questions.

His knowledge of Chicago is unmatched, and he brought us to some of the most beautiful and even lesser-known photo locations with stunning views of the city. Despite our huge family and a very tight photography schedule, he handled everyone with so much grace, patience, and professionalism while still capturing amazing shots.

His entire team was phenomenal as well. They captured every special moment throughout the day without ever feeling intrusive or in the way. We truly could not recommend a photographer more highly. Colin absolutely crushed it, and we are beyond grateful for everything he did to make our wedding memories so special!

Having a great photographer was high on our priority list, and we could not have had a better experience than what we got with Colin! We felt very at ease with him from our very first zoom meet and greet/info chat and I knew I would be comfortable having him around the entire day of the wedding. Our engagement shoot was so fun in downtown Chicago, and we figured out a way to include our pup (who quite frankly stole the show) while also getting some incredible pictures along the river. Colin joined us at the final venue walkthrough to get to know the space and we had a scheduled call the week of the wedding to finalize picture locations and schedule for the day. Every detail was covered and it was very reassuring. As for the wedding day, Colin was supposed to be with us for 10 hours but ended up coming early and staying late, consistently calming my nerves about the weather and even made me an espresso because I finished getting ready early.. Our guests loved the photo booth and the group shots we took throughout the evening. The second photographer Jim even followed the groom to Target and snapped some pictures while he bought a new belt since he forgot one while packing. Colin and his team were the absolute best and I’m so happy we chose them for our day!

Colin was such a pleasure to work with from the beginning, until the end. Starting with our engagement shoot, he really took the time to get to know my husband and I, and even brought our dog a toy for the shoot. He spent 4 hours with us and the pictures turned our AMAZING. Throughout the planning process, Colin was communicative and easy to work with, he also came to our walk through with our planner to make sure we were aligned for the day of the wedding.

The day of the wedding Colin and his team were timely and super easy/fun to work with. He made sure we got all the shots around the riverwalk and made us feel so comfortable on our special day. He was extremely personable, and so many of our guests commented how great he was. He was super efficient and organized when it came to family photos as well, which could have been stressful - not with Colin.

He even helped us get THE SHOT with our dog the day of the wedding. Colin ended up staying well after his "contractual" time, and truly is a gem in the wedding photography world.

Hiring Colin to shoot our wedding was one of the best decisions we've ever made! From our first conversation with him, we knew he was the right person for us. Hilarious, down-to-earth, professional while still being incredibly personable - what more could you want? We were instantly comfortable and couldn't wait to work with him.

Leading up to our wedding, we had multiple conversations to review the shot list, photo locations, and what was most important to us in terms of photography. Colin listened, provided so many helpful ideas and created the perfect schedule for us.

Day-of, Colin and Jim were simply the best. They make everyone feel comfortable and at ease, like we're all just hanging out together at the best party ever. They kept the wedding party on schedule, chatted it up with everyone, and caught every single important moment while somehow blending in to the background. Knowing they were there took away all my anxiety about getting the photos I wanted, and Colin served as a much-needed source of comfort and comic relief throughout the day.

Finally, receiving our pictures was one of the best parts of the post-wedding months. The photos are STUNNING - exactly what we wanted to make the memories last forever. My fiancé and I placed the highest priority on photography. Wedding festivities typically span one day, but a photograph stands the test of time as a lasting legacy and memory.

When planning, we wanted a photographer that not only knew how to take family pictures and posed bridal party lines. We wanted someone that could bring out the best in us and our guests to feel comfortable around the camera. Someone who knew the right moment to capture the best candid moments. See beauty in the simplicity of an alleyway or bridge girder. We wanted a photographer that could capture a story and not just a simple “prom pose”.

My fiancé and I met him at a friend’s wedding as part of the bridal party. He was always cheerful and trying to capture the guests’ best and sincerest moments. Even after the bridal party’s photo shoot under a bridge line, he helped the bride by cleaning her dress’s train that had become dusty during the photo session. We immediately knew how committed Colin was not only to his work, but also the bride and groom. Did I mention? He also studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and has continued to promote education forward in photography. We needed to snag his skills as quickly as possible!
Colin takes the time to know the couple, their personalities and fun quirks. We had negotiated a package to include an engagement shoot, wedding photography, and photo booth.

Although, with most 2020 weddings, our initial plans had been interpreted due to COVID. Despite the hit to the wedding industry, he was very willing to accommodate and work with us.

Once local restrictions started to uplift, we planned an afternoon engagement shoot. Colin has a wide array of experience working with many cultures, styles and sizes of weddings in Chicagoland. He knows the best nooks, spots, and city highlights. After being stuck in quarantined pajamas for several months, my fiancé and I had the best date! We finally had the opportunity to dress up, feel fancy, and get the butterflies flying right before our big day. Colin always found a way to make us laugh and bring out our inner genuine charm. He spent the entire day with us with no hesitation. We traveled to 4+ spots and he did not even blink with my confusingly indecisive and picky requests.

When it came to the wedding day, he was very accommodating to all the last-minute changes given constantly changing COVID protocols. He not only came early, but also left later than expected, waiting patiently until all the festivities were over. He worked tremendously well with the videographer (a separate vendor we had hired) and would guide with respectful instruction as to what was “next”. He even assisted the videographer if he needed an extra hand or visual eye. Of course, for many of our groomsmen, it was their first time participating in a wedding and did not know how to put on their boutonnieres. Colin right away herded them up and showed them the magical way of “the two pins”. And of course, since the church’s air conditioner broke, he survived an incredibly hot day with no complaints despite some quests passing out. He even printed out several fun poses/ideas I had previously shared with him as a guide for group and bride/groom photos. He even sent us a sneak peak of our photos just a few hours after the festivities!

Colin Lyons is amazing! We had him for our Chicago wedding at the Blackstone hotel. We did our rehearsal Friday and he showed up to take pictures of that also! He did a wonderful job keeping the schedule on track. We traveled to the art institute for pictures and he had the best photo ideas. He was fun and kept us stress-free. He brought his photo booth and it was such a hit! I would definitely recommend Colin!

Colin shot my brothers wedding a few years back, my wedding this past summer and my maid of honors wedding this past fall. He is professional, kind, flexible and honest.
