Hiring the Alcova Ensemble was the single best decision I made in planning our wedding, other than picking the right groom. I was one of those brides who was overwhelmed by all of the decisions I had to make, but Marty walked me through the process and kept it from being annoying, tedious or frustrating. In preparation, they were exceedingly professional and thoughtful, helping me figure out exactly what musical tone we wanted our wedding day to take. They had a great variety of music, but when I asked for a specific song they did not already know, they were happy to create the new arrangement. They thought of all of the little details I did not think of, asked the questions I should have thought of, showed up on time and in style. Their performance before the ceremony, during, after and in the cocktail hour was superb. In complete sincerity, all most all of the people who have complimented me on our special day say first 'the music was magnificent.' Walking in to Gymniopedies by Eric Satie made the moment even more breathtaking, walking out to our specially arranged song made our exit memorable, and dancing with my new husband to 'God Only Knows' by the Beach Boys still brings tears to my eyes in its beauty. They would have been a great deal at twice the price. This is one area where I did not even know what a value I was getting until after the fact, and very worth it!

Nadia Pessoa is INCREDIBLE! She is insanely talented, humble, affable, hard-working and considerate. She is the consummate professional, and will work to make your big day a memorable one. She is a genius harpist. Nadia's rates were very reasonable. My wife and I enjoyed her performance immensely! She was absolutely amazing. Her collaboration with our reverend was pure genius. We found it particularly moving. Our guests cannot stop raving about her. Our parents were totally thrilled by her performance! My grandmother commented that she was not aware that music emanating from a harp could be so beautiful, powerful, and vibrant. We only wish that we could have remained in 'the chapel' for more of her performance. We were quickly whisked away (by design) following the ceremony, so as to maximize our time with the photographer, while most our guests remained in our makeshift chapel, and were treated to her full performance! Nadia made our wedding ceremony a wonderful and memorable event. We cannot say enough good things about her, or recommend her more highly! Working with her was an absolute delight. You may think that you don't need live ceremony music at your wedding, but you NEED to hire Joshua for yours! He was the very first vendor I hired because the music portion of my ceremony was one of the most important aspects to me (I had much of it planned years before I even got engaged). I spent a lot of time searching for someone who could make my dream music a reality and I am SO glad I did. Not only did Joshua already have a wide array of selections to offer, he was also willing to learn a number of new songs. For one of the pieces I had my heart set on, all I had was a YouTube link to an orchestration, which Joshua then took and arranged for piano. I was BLOWN AWAY by that level of service and commitment. Walking down the aisle to that was literally a dream come true for me, and the most magical part of the entire day for me. He also offered us a great deal to have him play during the cocktail hour as well, which our guests really enjoyed. On top of all of this, he was very communicative, punctual-- an all around professional!!
