Hiring the Alcova Ensemble was the single best decision I made in planning our wedding, other than picking the right groom. I was one of those brides who was overwhelmed by all of the decisions I had to make, but Marty walked me through the process and kept it from being annoying, tedious or frustrating. In preparation, they were exceedingly professional and thoughtful, helping me figure out exactly what musical tone we wanted our wedding day to take. They had a great variety of music, but when I asked for a specific song they did not already know, they were happy to create the new arrangement. They thought of all of the little details I did not think of, asked the questions I should have thought of, showed up on time and in style. Their performance before the ceremony, during, after and in the cocktail hour was superb. In complete sincerity, all most all of the people who have complimented me on our special day say first 'the music was magnificent.' Walking in to Gymniopedies by Eric Satie made the moment even more breathtaking, walking out to our specially arranged song made our exit memorable, and dancing with my new husband to 'God Only Knows' by the Beach Boys still brings tears to my eyes in its beauty. They would have been a great deal at twice the price. This is one area where I did not even know what a value I was getting until after the fact, and very worth it!
