Each year when the fall leaves change color, thousands of monarch butterflies take to the skies and migrate south. In unison with the natural phenomenon, people from all over the world too make their way to this cultural heaven during the dry season. At this time, Mexico comes alive with vibrant colors and festivities. One holiday couples won’t want to miss while visiting in May is the Cinco de Mayo celebration. During this time, locals take to the streets and parade around in flashy outfits. The festival also includes an amazing spread of customary foods from tacos to guacamole and tequila drinks.

A white sand wedding may fit the bill

Mexico is a popular destination for tying the knot due to its evergreen scenery and affordable prices. The average wedding in Mexico costs around $8,000. This is significantly less compared to the $33,000 average across America.

With budget friendly options, couples can plan the tropical wedding they have always dreamed of. To the east, true white sand coastlines face the turquoise waters of the Caribbean sea and leave no shortage of beachfront wedding venues to choose from. The west of Mexico is in no means any less beautiful, with sprawling beaches that run along the Pacific coastline.

Not your average island

If an island wedding is where your heart lies, then you can set your eyes to Puerto Rico. This tropical paradise holds some of the oldest churches in the Americas sitting between mountains and rainforests. This wonderous island also contains the largest rum distillery, biggest sea turtles, and the most abundance of natural gold in the world. In the land of greatness, big ideas can come to life at locations such as castles, rainforests, beaches, and resorts. Many couples flock to the Island of Enchantment every year to take advantage of the unique variety of wedding venues that can be found here.

Winter and spring is the time to soak up the sun

During the months through December to April clear skies and comfortable temperatures of 80 degrees sweep across Mexico. With virtually no rain in sight, outdoor weddings are the perfect way to soak up the sun and enjoy the ocean breeze.

Be in the know before you go
