We hired The Sweetbeats Band for our wedding reception and we couldn't be happier to have made this decision! We had some complicated logistics for our venue and they worked kindly with us to figure everything out so that our day and event went as smoothly as possible. They were prompt in responses and accommodated our unique needs, as much as possible. The band brought incredible energy and expertise; we knew we were in for a good time once we heard the first song! We've gotten so many comments on how amazing the band was, since the wedding, and we very much feel the same! Would absolutely hire them again!

With a large group of talented singers and musicians who played a spectrum of instruments, the range of music the band is able to play is astonishing. From the classics to the current radio hits, they can accommodate any party’s musical tastes. We worked with the band manager Stuart to give him a sense of our style by discussing their song lists and establishing “must plays” and “definitely not” songs. With a plan in place, I have to highlight what impressed us (and our guests) the most: The band flawlessly read the room throughout the night and adjusted their set lists, song by song, to accommodate the energy of the dancefloor. They were able to pick up the energy with the perfect song and give us the breaks we didn’t know we needed by slowing it down from time to time for more intimate slower dances. I’ve never seen so many empty seats at a reception because every person was on the dance floor having the time of their lives. We continue to receive rave reviews of our wedding with the band being the headline (after us of course!). We knew this band was going to be great. They ended up being legendary! On top of this top-notch band, working with the band manager Stuart was one of our most fun, pleasant and outright helpful experiences out of all of our wedding planning. One minute on the phone with him and you can tell he’s a great guy and a professional. He drew our attention to details we didn’t even know we should be thinking about (beyond the music selections) and worked with us to round out our wedding plan. He offered guidance when we felt lost and always added his encouragement with a true sense of caring. We attribute a lot of our peace of mind and the success of executing our wedding plan to Stuart and we couldn’t praise the band any higher than we already have. A truly incredible group that is a must have for any event if you value professionalism and crowd pleasing, energetic live music!

Hiring Rich Dimare and the Sinatra Band for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! The instrumental trio set the perfect tone for our cocktail hour, providing lovely background music that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. During dinner, Rich captivated us all with his stunning Sinatra classics, and the band really brought the magic of those timeless songs to life. After dinner, they transitioned seamlessly as Rich took over as DJ, keeping the energy high for the rest of the night. Our guests danced the night away, and the dance floor was packed from start to finish! Rich's professionalism and ability to engage the crowd in such a respectful way truly stood out. I can’t recommend him enough! You get the best of both worlds with this band and DJ combo—if you want an unforgettable experience, Rich Dimare is the way to go!

Since meeting one of the band members 10 years ago and subsequently falling in love with this amazing band - I've always hoped they'd play at my wedding. My friends all know that this is my "favorite 11-piece retro disco funk band" and I've celebrated many birthdays and holidays at Johnny D's in Somerville over the years - my favorite place to enjoy this band. Soon after proposing I went to see Booty Vortex and once again began to dream about them playing at our wedding. This time I was also thinking about what that meant for my wedding budget - with so many band members this wasn't going to be an inexpensive addition. My bride and I also wanted to host a pre-wedding potluck with our larger community - since our wedding was going to be a smaller affair with family and a few friends. With some encouragement and some skepticism from friends, we decided to throw a pre-wedding potluck and concert 2 weeks before our wedding - and to ask friends to help chip in to cover the cost via a GoFundMe page. I contacted Julia Cruz to tell her my plans and make all the arrangements - including booking the a/v vendor. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and very responsive to any questions I sent her via email. We were able to raise about 1/3 of the total cost on GoFundMe and rolled the rest of the fee into our wedding budget. It was totally worth it! I still cannot believe we threw a concert for our friends just 2 weeks before the wedding. They really enjoyed it and the dancing was a ton of fun. It's also great to just sit and watch them play -they always look like they are having a great time. I should note that a live band is LOUD and especially so with so many horns. So keep that in mind as you book your venue. It was difficult for our guests to stay in the room during the concert if they wanted to chat. Luckily we had other rooms for them to move to. If you love disco and funk you cannot find a better Boston-based band for your wedding or any other event!

Roderick Camelia was friendly and accommodating during our pre-wedding day correspondence, and the band did a spectacular job creating a beautiful and fun musical ambience to the cocktail party. My husband and I are grateful we got to dance to the music for a bit in between photos and appetizers! We looked long and hard for a band like this for our cocktail hour, and Camelia Latin Jazz fit exactly what we were looking for. Thank you to Roderick and the band for helping make our wedding day amazing!
