Interview with Wes & Necia

Wes: Our marriage has been a source of joy and personal growth as humans. It's with this in our hearts that we give 110% to capturing your wedding memories with incredible depth. The health of your marriage is on you.

Necia: I love that a wedding day hinges on your vows, made within a community of friends and family. There's no shortage of traditions, symbols, and people for us to photograph.

Wes: What we do differently than other photographers is that we pay attention to little details like who carved your arbor. We ask ourselves where they are sitting right now as you exchange vows beneath the arbor they carved. We want to remind you of all those who celebrated with you and are there for you.

Our portrait work stands toe to toe with anyone in Chicago, but we realize that a wedding isn't just about pretty portraits of a couple. The photos should also answer the question: 'Who came to celebrate with us? Who else was there? Who do we come from? Who do we aspire to be?'

Necia: We shoot natural light when the natural light looks great. When the lights go down Wes & I have tricks in our bag so that we don't stop producing gorgeous images just becuase golden hour ended.

This rare skill goes a long way and is especially noticed during winter weddings with nightfall at 4pm!

So many other photographers are limited to golden hour portraits and then the rest of the coverage is suffering.

Wes Craft Photography's Style is a mix of candid moments, the big and small, documented with attention to detail, combined with editorial portraits that convey authentic warmth and your personality.

They're also versitle after the natural light has faded as they produce cinematic portraits after dark and dynamic wedding reception photography.

Interesting Fact

Both Wes and Necia have international backgrounds and are particularly interested in the cross cultural and multicultural expressions found in Chicagoland's weddings. Necia shares, "We have worked closely with couples from every major faith tradition and dozens of Chicagoland's major cultural backgrounds. We love to find what's universal and what's unique in each."
