It’s been two months since our wedding and we, and our guests, still can’t stop raving about our wedding weekend. Much of that credit goes to Katy for pulling off the best wedding ever. We hired Katy to plan our wedding and welcome dinner. She’s not cheap and the wedding wasn’t either. Expect to blow your budget, but you pay for what you get (we spent ~$2,800/guest for the weekend) and trust us, it was well worth it. Katy is one of a kind, and clearly multiple levels above other wedding planners. If you’re looking for a luxurious, highly personalized wedding, one that truly accentuates your love and journey, hire Katy, she’s your gal. She knows what she’s doing! I can’t imagine us having even close to the experience we had without her. Many gave us the advice that something always goes wrong at your wedding, just let it go, but our wedding, under Katy’s leadership, was flawless. We can't underscore enough how critical Katy was in making our wedding weekend the best time ever.

Katy is super organized, professional, and she’s an amazing designer. There were many instances where both of us were decision-paralized particularly during the design phase. After a few questions and yay-or-nays on pictures, Katy knew exactly what we wanted. It’s like she read our mind, and then delivered. From our wedding vision, to big ticket items to the smallest details, it can get overwhelming. Our advice: trust her and listen to her advice because she knows exactly what she’s doing and she’ll get it done so you have peace of mind. We had our dream wedding and all of our guests lamented about how it was “the most special and beautiful wedding they had ever been to,” still to this day, and even the ones who had been to multiple weddings at our venue before. We had a very “us” experience… this was no cookie-cutter thing. We prioritized food, drinks, and entertainment, and boy-oh-boy was that done right. Katy is connected to all the best vendors on the island. Fine Champagne and caviar flown in, best chef in Maui, bartender, vocalist and playlist. In addition, got difficult family dynamics? No problem, Katy handles it kindly, with the utmost professionalism, making sure you have nothing to worry about so you can truly enjoy your special day. We’d do it all over again!

My husband and I hired Katy to plan our 2022 wedding in summer of 2021. We interviewed a few wedding planners and the clear choice was Katy. She was always very prompt in responding and very organized. It was an uncertain time when we first talked to Katy, not knowing how long Hawaii’s safe travels program would last and what restrictions the venue would have on our wedding day. Despite this being completely out of her control, Katy really helped guide us through the wedding planning process. She provided frequent reassurances, insights as to how local vendors were handling the situation and updates on Hawaii’s latest guidelines.

The amount of choices planning a wedding can get really overwhelming and this is really where Katy excels. She sets up a few planning sessions asking about our taste, our vision, our budget, any photos we wanted to share and then presented a few options. This made it much easier to narrow down and not have to spend as much time sorting through a bunch of options. The vendors we ended up going with that Katy recommended were also so incredible. All were very prepared and organized, and we were in love with the decorations, hair and makeup, photography and videography.

The day before and wedding day were no different. Katy thought of every little detail, down to bringing nice pens for signing the marriage certificate, and second by second planning for the ceremony. Katy is great to work with and we’d definitely recommend Katy as a wedding planner!

We had an amazing experience with Katy after our original wedding coordinator situation changed due to org changes with our venue as a result of the pandemic. We were matched with Katy and VOWS and it couldn't have been a better silver lining for a postponed COVID wedding. Katy is absolutely amazing. I especially enjoyed being able to text and talk with her whenever I needed to go over wedding details. I could send her a picture I liked, mention and idea to her, and she would make it happen. I connected so well with her that it felt like a friend helping me plan my wedding. From the beginning of the planning process until we stepped off the plane in Maui Katy made everything so easy for us. She even ran around the island and hand delivered our Welcome Bags to all 100+ of our guests. She was proactive, professional, and always had our best intentions in mind. We hired Katy to help us plan our wedding in Maui. We live in Seattle and we were looking for someone local to the islands to help us navigate vendors and locations. We came across Vows Wedding & Event Planning through a google search and arranged for an initial consultation. Luckily for us, Katy was going to be in Seattle soon, so we were able to meet in person. We could tell immediately that Katy was going to be able to handle the job. She had the right mixture of experience and confidence that we felt was needed.
We flew to Maui about 5 months before to do some vendor selection, and Katy had everything planned out perfectly. We only met with reputable vendors, who knew the importance of the event we were planning. Even though we weren’t able to work with every vendor, we felt that the ones Katy had us meet were very professional. We even hired her husband to be our officiant!
The total timeline for the planning was approximately 8 months, and Katy kept everything on track to meet the timeline. Vendors were hired on time, guests were invited and RSVP’d with enough time, people were paid on time. Hiring Katy took so much of the stress of our minds.
The food, the decor (which Katy expertly helped design with color guidance from us), the ceremony, the music, just every aspect went perfectly. Katy and her assistant were there for the full day at the venue with us, and made sure that nothing went wrong (and if it did, us grooms didn’t hear about it).
I really felt like Katy cared about us having the best day possible. I was trepidatious about spending the money for a planner when we were already spending quite a bit of money on a destination wedding, but it was unbelievably worth it.

When we were planning our destination wedding in Maui, we wanted someone who was both knowledgeable and experienced with private estates in Maui. Katy had the experience and relationships on the island, so we hired her for a day-of coordination package. She provided us with vendor referrals, a check-list of things we needed to take care of (the fun stuff like the food and desserts!) while she took care of the other details. All her help gave us peace of mind and was a major time-saver. She was very responsive and always at our finger-tips when we needed her, especially when we arrived on Maui. On the day of the wedding, I did not have to worry about a single thing as Katy was always three steps ahead of me. I was able to really relax and enjoy the time with family and friends. As an event planner myself, I know how important hiring a wedding planner is for your own big day. Without Katy there on my wedding day I would have been one seriously stressed out, micro-managing, high strung bride. She was also great about being in contact on-Island, easy to get in touch with, and really seemed “on-call” for the few days leading up to the wedding.
