We held our wedding reception at Verulam Farm in the barn in October 2019. The barn sits between a picturesque pond and a horse field. There is a lot of land to explore, and fall in Charlottesville makes the setting so magical and breathtaking. The barn feels far away from downtown despite being only minutes away. The barn itself is beautifully rustic. It is mostly open on the inside with just a stage on one end and a loft on the other, meaning that almost any vision could be brought to life inside. It is a wonderful palette to work from. We added string lights outside, uplighting inside, and lots of greenery to spice it up a little. And we turned the loft into a bourbon bar! Our vision was easily brought to life. I have to thank the absolutely wonderful Kennon Ibbeken for being the brains behind the operation. She was so fun to work with and makes wedding planning seem so easy (even though I know it is definitely NOT easy)! She is so organized and executed a flawless night, and thought of every single detail. I don't know what we would have done without her! If you looking for an event venue I would HIGHLY recommend stopping your search now and going with Verulam! You will not regret it!

I can't say enough about Verulam! So many of our guests told us it was the most beautiful venue they had ever seen! We had our ceremony at the Main House (on the croquet field and in the gardens) and then moved to the Hay Barn for dinner and dancing. Having two completely different venues within one location was wonderful, and it allowed us to create the wedding of our dreams. Kennon was also so easy to work with, and she couldn't have been more helpful. All I can say is - book it now before everyone else does!
