Our wedding experience at the Lewis Catherine House and with the host Lindsey far exceeded our expectations and that of all our guests. The house and party barn are very beautiful. It’s on 7 acres with plenty of space for a tent, parking and to take pictures. All of our out of town guests who stayed at the house and those who came just for the wedding were amazed at the beauty of the place. The surroundings in the heart of Nelson County wine country were breathtaking. Lindsey’s hospitality was incredible. She is very helpful with all details. She appreciated our Jamaican culture and we made everyone feel at home.

The Lewis Catherine House was the perfect place to have our wedding. It is in a beautiful and secluded location, and had all we needed to create an intimate and relaxed experience for our guests. The host was very accomadating and helpful leading up to and on our wedding day.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at the Lewis Catherine House. My wife and I got married on the property and I can say that the selection of this site for our wedding was perhaps the best decision we made (other than saying “I do” to each other). The scenic views ensured we had amazing photos from the event. The house on the property was comfortable, spacious, and well-curated in terms of furnishings and design. As such, the space facilitated a wonderful stay for us, several members of our wedding party, and the many guests that visited throughout the weekend. From the fire pit to the outdoor space where we hosted a friends and family brunch and oyster shucking, the LCH met our needs perfectly.

I should also note that above all, the management team provided first-class service. They ensured that we had everything that we needed throughout our stay. They left no stone unturned when it came to making us feel welcome. Their efforts were extremely appreciated during what can be a very stressful event. With close proximity to local vineyards, breweries, Afton Mountain, and historic Charlottesville, the Lewis Catherine House is the perfect location for any gathering. This farmhouse was perfect for our wedding. The property is lovely, spacious, and private. The fall colors only made it more beautiful. It had everything we needed in order to make our day special, including ammenties and last minute needs. The large backyard was a perfect location for our reception and fit a large tent easily. Outdoor buildings with electric plug in made set up simple for our caterer. It also allowed the buffet to run efficiently. There was plenty of parking for guests. Everything was spotless when we arrived.

The house provided beauty, space, comfort, and cost-effectiveness for myself, my husband, and our family. The scenery made for gorgeous photos, indoor and outdoor. It was a relaxing weekend (especially around the fire pit) and one we will never forget. We, and our guests, were thrilled and had nothing but compliments.

As soon as I saw the Lewis Catherine House, I knew I wanted it to be a part of my special day! The house is a beautiful setting for a wedding--both inside and out. The master suite has the perfect set-up for getting ready and there was plenty of space for my entire bridal party to stay at the house for the weekend. Not to mention many opportunities for picturesque photos for a photographer to capture all of the special moments. Some of my favorites for the day: buttoning up my dress in the suite, walking down the farmhouse's staircase in my gown, bridesmaid photos under the trees in the front and on the expansive front porch, and the list goes on! I cannot sing praises for this location enough. I've stayed several times since my wedding at the Lewis Catherine House and it will always hold a special place in my heart, feeling like a home away from home.

The Lewis Catherine House was the absolute best base of operations for my daughter’s wedding! The bride, 4 of her attendants (2 with spouses), her dad & I all comfortably stayed at the immaculate house without feeling crowded. We hosted the rehearsal dinner in the large dining room for 25 people. The sitting area off the master bedroom was the perfect spot for makeup & hair the day of the wedding. While getting ready, we had a delightful lunch buffet, arranged by host Lindsey, downstairs in the gathering room off the kitchen. It was perfect for the ladies to relax, visit, and have something to eat before the main event later. The morning after the wedding we hosted an open-house brunch for 50 people catered by Fardowners (Crozet VA). There was plenty of space in the kitchen for Fardowners to set up & serve (including made-to-order omelets) all our guests. All the room inside & out provided our guests a variety of options to mingle, eat & converse.
A special weekend was made more so by the oh-so-special Lewis Catherine House!
