The Venue 290 is a historic indoor wedding venue with a modern twist located in Rocky Mount VA, just minutes south of Roanoke. The venue features separate ceremony and reception space, so that means your guests don’t need to be shuffled off somewhere uncomfortable while a room is flipped. Venue 290 also offers a spacious bridal suite and groom's lounge, large back patio and rooftop for those goregous sunset photos.

Walking into Venue 290 is like taking a step back into the past, but with a modern, glamorous feel. We have focused on every detail of this beautiful space, and we have designed it to create an enchanting atmosphere for a truly magnificent wedding event.

We are located in the heart of historic uptown Rocky Mount, VA, just a short drive from Roanoke, Lynchburg, Martinsville, and Danville. Our venue started as a department store in 1912, and still offers the same beauty now as it did then. The ballroom offers original hardwood floors, stunning staircase, beautiful columns that soar up to the ceilings that are still covered with the original tin tiles. While the historic charm has been maintained, the entire venue was updated with an industrial modern look and feel. We feature exposed ductwork, original hardwood merchant shelves and the same rolling ladder that began serving customers back in 1912.

At Venue 290, you make the decisions on just how you want your special day to go. We encourage our guests to choose their vendors. We have a list of preferred vendors that we know and trust to do a great job, but if you have someone else in mind, just let us know.
